Concerning how Atletico will approach this: Compare it to our last group game last season. We had already secured first spot and had an away game. We played with Green and Ulreich....

Give our regulars (who hardly had a break) a rest, and do another 4231 to convince Carlo.

We lost vs Rostov when we rested some players... 4 more games to go before the winter break, not asking much from our players.

With it being so close to break I too would like to see us field our best team against Atelti. I think it will be important for morale to beat a big Spanish team regardless of the importance. It would also be nice to keep our home winning streak in the champions league going.

B-team needed

Some players need playing time. It's the opportunity for them to have some against high level team.

Neuer - Rafinha, Martinez, Badstuber, Bernat - Kimmich, Alonso, Sanches - Costa, Lewandowski, Ribéry

All in all there are 3 competitive games, the one against Simeone's team is a question mark. If Atletico comes with their starters it might be a good chance to get a revenge, playing good and if we beat them we definitely benefit our morale but is a huge IF because the group has been decided.
Nevertheless Bayern in front of their crowd is no joke, that must be said .

The way I see it, we must win convincingly and restore our authority as the dominant team in the remaining league games!
The final test of the first round will be the game against RB Leipzig obviously. The game against Atletico will be a game of prestige and only, we can lick our wounds, learn from our mistakes, work harder with more efficiency for the coach and staff and knock them out on later stage, that would be a great satisfaction as far as I'm concerned.

It doesn't look like Atletico will field a B squad... we shouldn't lose at home despite it being an irrelevant game points wise. IMO Atletico nor Bayern wouldn't accept a heavy defeat easily and that's the risk with fielding a B squad.

I don't see point on fielding a B team. Unless Alonso in in the A team.

Great turnover with Rafinha, Badstuber, Bernat, Sanches, Alonso, Costa announce Kicker.

It's a 4-3-3 yes, but it's the only way to give a break to Lewandowski or Müller.

But Boateng starter I don't get. If he get a yellow card he will miss last 16 first leg. :coffee:

Seriously I don't even care if we lose this useless game with our B team against an Atletico A-team.

Except taking some yellow card for our starter, risking injury or worse : risking a lose with our A team... it's useless to take it really seriously.
