Agreed, but he just grew up in the match, after Atleti sat back, then the whole team got space to play (Like Alaba, that found space in the midfield and banged their post), otherwise, if Atleti have not set back, Alonso would be in danger like in the first half.. He didnt build up, neither hold the defense.. (-1 player)

That's a fair point. He doesn't seem to be able to hold off pressure these days.

im confused about people mentioning all the chances we had i dont remember anything but long shots and a tight angle for lewa where he wasnt going to realistically score we deserved to lose and are lucky torres didnt finish the tie with a genuine chance.

I still think that we can pull this off as long as our superduper coach doesnt throw a formation like yesterday, and Boateng is ready.

Shortly after midnight the Bayern stars entered the ballroom at the team hotel to warm applause. Anticipation and defiance had replaced the first sense of disappointment at the avoidable 1-0 defeat away to Atlético.
“It's not going to be an easy return in Munich, but it would be a mistake to be angry about the result. Let me say one thing: I want to go to Milan!” Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said in his address.
“The result is an obstacle, no question. But I think we have a good chance of overcoming this obstacle next Tuesday to continue pursuing our big goal, our big dream,” added the Bayern chairman, who drew confidence from the second half in particular: “You could see how much quality and character our players have.”

We've become spanish teams' bitch thanks to this charlatan.

Now with Carletto I hope that we don't start to lose against the italians ...

Is it me or are we actually prone to these veryyyy slow starts to CL games? We seem to have a goal scored against us in the first 20 or so minutes quite often under Pep.

Atletico, Benfica away, Juve at home. Last year it was Porto away, we could have easily conceded against Barca, two years ago it was Real at home and away. I don't know how this record stacks up against other elite teams but it seems like we are often out of synch early on. Or it could be that we are trying to establish our possession game too soon as teams are still fresh and pressuring us in a way that we can't handle.

That is where the Alonso part becomes important because that is the part of the game where he is really vulnerable. I keep thinking to the game against Porto last year.

We struggled most against Italian sides some time ago(mostly Milan)... not against the Spanish that much... no Spanish team ever won on German soil before 2014 against any opposition, not only Bayern(in the CL). Spain had an awful record playing Germans in Germany... things started to change after 2014.

When I saw the lineup I knew we were going to have trouble. Removing Müller was a mistake and everyone with any clue about the game knows that. Not sure why Guardiola has to tinker with everything all the time, but it's bitten bayern in the ass the last 3 champions league semi-finals. We still have a fighting chance at the Allianz. Anything can happen. Let's start with our best 11 and hope for the best. Mia san mia! =D>

This....we had a few chances to score but so did they. The game could have finished 1-1, but 1-0 was probably a fair results for Atletico. They pressed us and scored early and then sat back and defended and almost hit us on the break vai Torres off the post.

We didn't have any clear-cut chances, but we did have quite a few half-chances. Score was fair.

Guardiola is heavily criticised in Bild and Kicker.
