It doesn't matter, it's a matter of form, playstyle, tactics, so on.
Every team plays differently against every other team.
By the way, which Arsenal forum(s) are you on?

I agree.

I am, on Online Arsenal. I would like to know why you find it meh? It is anything but meh. You can either love it get pissed off completely

Does anyone here watch Premier League football?

The top sides have declined, while the lower sides seem to be getting better.

My team (Arsenal) have had a massive fall from grace since the stadium move, Chelsea although being subsidised with lots of money and having big names, aren't anything amazingly special, City on paper are a cut above everyone else, but Mancini keeps getting his tactics wrong and he cannot motivate his players and Man United, although they have a frightening strike force, their midfield is average and their defence can't maintain focus for the full 90 which is why they are shipping goals left, right and centre. And Liverpool have been very average for the last 4 years now courtesy of Hicks & Gilette.

The fact that this United side is 6 points ahead of all the other sides & 15 points ahead of 3rd place goes to show how the top sides aren't what they used to be anymore. Norwich, Swansea, Everton, Spurs, Newcastle are all starting to show that they aren't afraid to attack the top teams.

As far as entertainment goes, I think nothing is better than the Premier League. It's just so unpredictable, that anywhere from 3rd to 12th at the moment is just so incredibly tight, but the quality of defending is just so shocking. In terms of good football. the Bundesliga is the best I've seen from the main continental leagues and Dortmund, Bayern and Schalke have represented Germany very well in the Champions League, the first two being the standout performers in the competition thus far.

Looking at your side....Robben, Ribery, Shaqiri, Mandzukic, Gomez, Mueller, Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Gustavo....all top class players and on paper, you could easily destroy this fairly average Arsenal team. It promises to be an enticing affair, but I will be bricking it through both legs!

I think you too do possess some top class players: Szczesny, Vermaelen, Cazorla, Wilshere, Poldi, Walcott... so it won't be easy at all plus the fact that both cb Boateng and Badstuber are to miss both legs!

I'm not even trying to trash talk, I'm just interested as to why the English speaking media (and by extension, the English fans) do not rate Bayern's real strength enough.

You cant be serious saying Willshere is overrated? Well then so is Mario Goetze I guess. Willshere is playing at his 80% ability right now. He would just be a better Fabregas playing at 100% in two years time. Ramsey has been shit this year, no doubt. And he wont start against Bayern ahead of Cazorla, so dont worry. Arteta has been phenomenal, if only under rated. He has the highest passing percentages in all of Europe, playing in a DM role. The only thing he is bad at is heading. You got your Javi Martinez for 45m, we got ours for 10m 8) Cazorla has been is super form till now, and if he doesnt get injured, our midfield is no less, if not tactically better, than yours. The only point in your favour is that Schweinstieger and Kroos have been playing together for years, thus your midfield is better gelled together. It will be an interesting battle.

As for the English media, rest assured I am neither English, nor a fan of England. I support Germany and actually my love for Arsenal stemmed from watching a certain Jens Lehmann in goal for the Mannschaft :D
I was amazed by the quality of play Bayern were showing last year. I dare say they played better last year than they have done so this year. Last season it seemed they could just outplay anyone. I follow their games, and to be honest, Dortmund have been quite unlucky numerous times this season to be so far behind, but Bayern do deserve the lead.

He's pretty class, actually.
Only problem is... Put it this way (from the perspective of a commentator):
"Abou Diaby heads the ball and fractures his skull"
Jesus saves, but Kahn does it better ;)

This is an excellent draw, not too difficult but by no means an easy opponent.

The key will be if Gustavo can get healthy, Martinez will have to play CB. Gustavo is the only person on this squad I would trust to mark Cazorla.

Saying that Jack Wilshere is overrated doesn't mean he is bad. He is actually pretty good, but the English media makes it sound like he's the best thing to happen to football. He held his own against Barca at the Emirates in 2011, but what other big games has he done that in? Last I checked, he needlessly got himself sent off versus United.

Some good enthusiasm here. To be honest, this tie is better for an Arsenal supporter than Barca or Milan because of the emotional baggage that goes with them. I believe Arsenal can beat anybody on their night, but the nights have been rare for us. And winning over two legs against Bayern is a daunting prospect for any side in the world. Although we did make a mockery of Milan when they visited Emirates last season, so there can be surprises up for the taking :D

Actually, I am a bit worried about our makeshift defence that will definitely be missing both Badstuber and Boateng (who both had an important part in Bayern reaching the CL final last season) in both legs and should, God forbid, anything happen to Dante, then Bayern are doomed.

Personally i think Martinez will be able o shutdown Santi since he seems to be the focal point of Arsenal's attack in the midfield.

I know it seems a joke right now. It would have to me, when I compare it with Viera-Pires-Ljunberg. But you have got to see them play at their best to see how good they are. But fair enough. :)

I know what you are saying. I endorse the uselessness of the english media when it comes to British players. Case in view : Wilfried Zaha.
Jack has been injured for a long time. He will take some more games to get back to full fitness. To be honest, he deserved his red against united. He was too frustrated. But I guess that was because the team around him played so shite it was unwatchable.
