2017/18 UEFA Champions League Rest Comparison

Postby MUTU » Fri Sep 01, 2017 8:06 am

Anderlecht vs Lokeren:

Hoffenheim vs Bayern:

Bayern vs Anderlecht:

74.25 hours rest for Bayern; 96.25 hours rest for Anderlecht. 22 hours advantage for Anderlecht.

--------------------------------------------------

Bayern vs Wolfsburg:

Montpellier vs PSG:

PSG vs Bayern:

120.25 hours rest for Bayern; 99.75 hours rest for PSG. 20.5 hours advantage for Bayern even though it's not really an advantage as both teams have ample time to rest.

--------------------------------------------------

Bayern vs Freiburg:

Celtic vs Dundee:

Bayern vs Celtic:

100.75 hours rest for Bayern; 100.25 hours rest for Celtic. 0.5 hours advantage for Bayern even though it's not really an advantage as both teams have ample time to rest.

--------------------------------------------------

Celtic vs Kilmarnock:

Bayern vs Leipzig:

Celtic vs Bayern:

72.25 hours rest for Bayern; 76.75 hours rest for Celtic. 4.5 hours advantage for Celtic.

--------------------------------------------------

Mouscron vs Anderlecht:

Bayern vs Augsburg:

Anderlecht vs Bayern:

101.25 hours rest for Bayern; 120.75 hours rest for Anderlecht. 19.5 hours advantage for Anderlecht even though it's not really an advantage as both teams have ample time to rest.

--------------------------------------------------

Bayern vs Hannover:

Strasbourg vs PSG:

Bayern vs PSG:

77.25 hours rest for Bayern; 72.75 hours rest for PSG. 4.5 hours advantage for Bayern.

--------------------------------------------------

Total: 20.5 hours disadvantage to Bayern in the group stage, and I bet that PSG's matches will be rescheduled so as to remove their disadvantage against Bayern.

DFB Pokal round 2 was split into 4 different times:

- Tuesday 24th October at 18:30
- Tuesday 24th October at 20:45
- Wednesday 25th October at 18:30
- Wednesday 25th October at 20:45

Considering that Bayern play in the Champions League away against Celtic on 31st October at 20:45, guess which of the four timezones Bayern were chosen to play in? Yes, you guessed that right, the one that specifically gives us the least rest.

That's 3 matches in 3 different cities in the space of 6 days for you.

Interesting that this time around scheduling does not favour Dortmund. They played 3 hours after us, and they have to travel to Cyprus for their game tomorrow, one day before us.
Super Bayern! Super Bayern! Hey! Hey!

I'm convinced that sadists are in charge of scheduling.

So, the whole Bundesliga matches are scheduled now. All our matches are on Saturday 3.30pm, except two of them which will be played on Saturday 6.30pm and, as you can guess, timed so as to f**k Bayern, as usual. We'll be playing Dortmund at 6.30pm just before a (potential) 1st leg in the Champions League quarterfinals and Borussia M'gladbach at 6.30pm just before we play Leverkusen on a Tuesday in the DFB-Pokal. Thanks once again to the assholes in charge.

PS: Leverkusen kick off 3 hours earlier and will be playing at home, both in the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal. Basically they have 3 hours more rest and no travelling. I know it's not much, but still, why? It just seems spiteful and intentional to me.

Unlike La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and the Portuguese Liga, The BL goes out of its way to screw German teams in Europe.

No worries though. Check out my 28th Feb post in the BL General Discussion thread. If Bayern manages to win their next three games (yes even the tough away game against RB Leipzig) and a few other results go our way, we could have sealed the BL title before the international break and rest our important players in the BL games before the Cup games.

The matches against Gladbach before Leverkusen is something who happen. At least both matches are Saturday and not Sunday and the match against Dortmund in late Saturday is intentional and because it is the big match of the matchday (and likely without the CL’s match near to it wuold have been scheduled on Sunday not Satueday)
