I want this Group for Bayern.

Bayern Munich
FC Barcelona/Paris Saint Germain
Totteringham Hotspuds
Feyenoord

A tough group is the only way we can be mentally prepared for the knockout stages. Bring it on! I know that We are stronger than Barcelona and PSG so there's no need to fear them. It's Real Madrid who are the one team that is above us at the moment and probably even Juventus.

Well I'm back. Result as expected 0-3, totally dominating Salzburg. Further hindered by match officials' decisions always in their favour. Still I am happy to have managed to shout 'Scheiß Red Bull' at them just below while taking a corner. One of them was Hwang and after he scored their 2nd he ran celebrating towards our corner, pity he didn't get a yellow for that.

Another plus, I managed to see Zickler on the touchline. Hardly recognized him but then I realised it was him after I saw a post from a friend who had a photo with him in the morning at Valletta.

Hibs refused to play... pity cause imo you have the players to hurt any team...
As for the officials. Diaz was lucky not to be sent off in the first 10 mins ... He kicked the guy in the chest (You couldn't see him from were you seated)
And the penalty was a clear hands. Their 3rd goal was pure luck... however having said that Hogg was disappointing I expected more from him.

I am not taking anything away from Salzburg's performance their pressing and ball control were amazing - yet they still made mistakes with many long balls but Hibs were simply in holiday mode - Failla wasted every ball that he touched. That last shot into their net summed it all up - the keeper saved it by just staying still, not even raising a thumb - it just slammed into his chest and he didn't even blink

You're right I couldn't see that clash properly from where I was. I was slightly to the left from the corner flag.
My complaint was more about the linesman. I could see that our player touched it with his hand but the penalty incident started from a missed offside call - the linesman on our side was there just for the payslip he couldn't keep the pace with the players.
There were a couple of such mistakes all through the match. During another incident I had the time to see their player clearly receiving the ball more than a meter offside and when I turn my head to see the linesman's decision he was still running towards the action, he wasn't even in line with the last man.

Anyway, it was still nice to see a full house at a local team's (especially Hibs) match :D

By the way I don't know if you noticed but yesterday Salzburg played with their latest crest change to wriggle their way around UEFA joke book of rules;

Yesterday's RB Salzburg Crest - now one red bull ran away from the crest

TBH I noticed something different but did not cross my mind what the intentions were!

I have a gut feeling that if Bayern can somehow someway reach the CL final next year then they'll win it. Don't care who our opponents will be in the final but I just think that once we are in the final we'll do it. The important thing though is to reach there first!

That's why I hope we get a difficult group but easier K.O. opponents.

Ajax and Nice are already playing in this round :o

I read that apart from those two, Sevilla, Liverpool and Napoli might also be drawn against Hoffenheim

Do they have any new interesting player apart from Gnabry? How does their current lineup look like? Hope they make it to the group stage [-o<

I was looking for this thread to write about that match.... nice v ajax

Re TSGH. Last time I was reading from our website and when referring to Gnabry's next destination they wrote that he will be gaining experience especially since the his new team will be in the Europa League...
I guess that they were not wrong

This is interesting and proves that Serie A is far from BL

2010 Werder Bremen - Sampdoria
2011 Arsenal - Udinese
2012 Braga - Udinese
2013 Milan - PSV
2014 Athletic - Napoli
2015 Bayer Leverkusen - Lazio
2016 Porto - Roma

Since 2010, only AC MIlan in 2013 has made it from the qualifiers to the group stage.

On the other hand, I think that except Gladbach against Dynamo Kiev in 2012, BL teams have always qualified.

And what makes it better is that it is Italy's 3rd best team against Germanys 4th

For me it does not matter who we play really. Main goal is to learn and improve.
Qualifying is a must ofcourse. But this year I simply want the squad to give me the feeling of confidence and being invincible. A 1000% good feeling towards the next rounds.
Rivals needs to fear us again instead of being confident of exposing us.
2013 reharsh and i'm glad.

So you're glad with a repetition of the single most successful season in a 117 years old club? Good
Guess it's ok to dream... Realistically speaking, the CL ship has sailed for us...
Thanks for nothing, :pep: !!

It hasn't sailed, not yet. We have the squad to win it. The problem is that, because of its composition, it would require some fine management... And departing from both 4231 and possession-obsession tactics.

I think it's important to be patient and see if they can get the right chemistry together at the right time. The CL is all about peaking at the right time, as well as hoping you're healthy.
