I hope we face Man City in group stage (of course if they make it past qualifying stage)

I hope for a tough route for any team who wants to win it and not a Europa League-level run as was the case with Real Madrid.

Seriously, the competition there was tougher and more fun to watch. If you look at Madrid's route, it was really Europa League level, facing average teams from day 1 (and I'm including PSG) and only facing a good opponent in the final. That's your typical EL script.

Back on topic, next season it's going to be tough. I think we are now the most desperate for it and our transfer season so far shows that. Barca will be there as well especially after Real's current triumph, but they seem to be needing of some squad reshuffling aside from MSN. Then you have City and PSG who will probably break some transfer records this summer to make themselves competitive. Dortmund and Arsenal might be interesting outsiders if they do well on the transfer market this summer. Both Madrid teams will out of the picture, I believe, especially Atletico.

The teams who wanted to win it had a tough route... Still... Not like Atlético was unbeatable...

It's going to come down to that little bit of extra luck and how well/quickly Ancelotti and the squad gel together. Among the top 3 teams we are the most unpredictable due to the fact that we are bringing in a new coach and spending big. If Ancelotti and the team click into place quickly, we could very well win it next year. I'm not expecting that though... it might take one more year for us to have a good shot.

Bring on Atletico Madrid in the group stages. We owe them big time. And they owe us this year's Champions League.

Well... Our last coach had three years to bring it... He didn't... Might sound harsh but: he'll get the same three years... If he fails to do it, he's failed just as well...

I agree. My point is that people shouldn't be saying things like "we'll win it next year" because it's so hard to predict what we're going to be like next season. Personally I think we're putting together the strongest squad in Bayern history this summer, and if Ancelotti works out as intended we will be the team to beat, even better than Barcelona. But I do not think that will happen in Ancelotti's first season.

Well, we've had the strongest squad in history for years now... So why should it be any different now? ;)

Ideally, we would still bring Sané, an RV and a backup striker though... And send away some "deadweight"...

Whether our current squad is stronger than the one we had in 2013 and 2014 is debatable in my opinion.

The fact that Kroos has more Champions League medals than Lahm makes me sick.

Time to change that.
