Come to think of it, if the top 4 leagues are going to have 4 teams in the group stage automatically, the chances of Germany, Italy, England, and Spain to ever fall out of the top 4 and be overtaken by France or someone is even more unlikely now, considering the 5th place team can have as littles as one half the teams those leagues have.

Maybe this way, the EL will gain a little more in interest... the bigs never really cared about that competition anyway. They should stop relegating teams from the CL to the EL though.

Lol ... France is so poor in football ... Not a chance this happen even with previous system.
Bayern 3-3-3-1 build-up under Heynckes :
Neuer - Boateng Hummels Thiago - Kimmich Vidal Alaba - Robben Müller James - Lewandowski
Neuer- Boateng Vidal Hummels- Kimmich Martinez Alaba- Robben James Ribéry- Lewandowski

But things can change with time. With the current system they can have just as many teams as the countries above them if they make it past the playoffs and the one from the top league doesn't; heck, France even have more teams than Italy this year. With the new system that is impossible and it makes it much harder for the top 4 leagues to ever change, even if their teams are worse. Just last week we saw Villareal crash out vs Monaco and Roma defeated by Porto. The new system will favour the two losers even if the other teams deserve it more.

SPORTBILD: Starting from 2018/2019 season, Wednesday CL games will be played at 19:00 and 21:00 instead of 20:45 in order to increase incomes.

They haven't taken a decision yet but it will be part of future discussion.

Use the timeshift feature on your satellite TV. You will watch the first half with a 15 minute delay and then you can switch to real time and watch the second half.

The thing is that for the UCL matches I always go to the fan club...
I guess that if this goes through the same will be applied for the knock out stages!

Re the timeshift... I look it up, wasn't aware about this feature! #-o

I keep forgetting it too. Ideally when a match starts you click pause and immediately click play. That way, you start recording and playing at the same time (maybe with a 1 second delay). The advantage is that if there was an action you want to see again, you can rewind and watch it again. Or maybe you need to get another beer or go to the toilet and you just click pause.

To do this, you need storage attached to your satellite box. Personally I opened mine up and installed a 1TB hard disk.

Well, they are changing the ranking criteria as well. Apparently it will be not only more complicated to calculate but clubs will be less burdened by the results of their peers. I'm not really sure how it is but in any case I'm pretty certain changes to the EL - which gets exactly the same points as the CL on UEFA's calculations as I read once - are necessary. UEFA would probably reduce the top four's participation spots as compensation. Whatever the case, there's only one conclusion; United is f*cked.

Nah, the rest of that group is all Barca...and if there's any team that's just as stacked in midfield as we are, it's Barca. I worry for his brother a bit, it'll be tough for him to get minutes in that team.

Can't see tweet? Click here!

Who is Shabani?

Interesting to note that Javi and Alaba are listed among the midfielders.
