Is not the goal difference in direct encounters that it is taken into consideration?
If we beat them 3:2 it will be all in vain.

that's why we need to work on the defense to keep a clean sheet and make things easier if we win 1-0...

Winning the group should be our imperative for many reasons and I think we can do it... but not with Alonso.

Goal difference is taken into account before goals in direct encounters.

Trust UEFA to use such a stupid system. The thing is the group tables are arranged in order of GD for teams on level points until the end of the group stage, when suddenly head to head becomes the be all and end all

Let's hope Carlo decides to give Alonso a rest that day like he's doing with other players.
If I see Alonso, I know that I'll see that disgusting Griezmann celebration too.

First, with a bad foul call and another bad showing by Ter Stegen on the free kick and a good counter attack by KDB Navas Aguero to Gundogan.

Barcelona really are cheap when it comes to defenders....

Was Ter Stegen really rated highly in Germany?

A "Bayern fan" not watching Bayern when they are playing in the Champions League? Hmm...

Actually, unlike you Euros, in America we have like 3-4 champ league games showing at a time on cable.

So, we had

City-barca
Arsenal-Lundgonst
Bayern-PSV
Atletico- Rostov

I don't watch games on streams on my pc. So, it's easy to switch channels. That is why a remote was invented.

In Europe we have satellite TV. I could watch on Sky Deutschland simulcast switching channels, or the German simulcast that switched between Bayern and Gladbach. Or I could watch any individual match. Didn't touch my remote, watched Bayern.

and this [source]

If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches,
the following criteria are applied in the order given to determine their rankings:
a. higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the
teams in question;
b. superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in
question;
c. higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the teams
in question;
d. higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches played
among the teams in question;
e. if, after having applied criteria a) to d), teams still have an equal ranking,
criteria a) to d) are reapplied exclusively to the matches between the teams in
question to determine their final rankings. If this procedure does not lead to a
decision, criteria f) to l) apply;
f. superior goal difference in all group matches;
g. higher number of goals scored in all group matches;
h. higher number of away goals scored in all group matches;
i. higher number of wins in all group matches;
j. higher number of away wins in all group matches;
k. lower disciplinary points total based only on yellow and red cards received in
all group matches (red card = 3 points, yellow card = 1 point, expulsion for
two yellow cards in one match = 3 points);
l. higher club coefficient (see Annex D).

Atletico last minute goal isn't offside.

It's a Rostov player who give unintentionally the ball to Griezmann (who wasn't offside when his partner cross the ball).
Bayern 3-3-3-1 build-up under Heynckes :
Neuer - Boateng Hummels Thiago - Kimmich Vidal Alaba - Robben Müller James - Lewandowski
Neuer- Boateng Vidal Hummels- Kimmich Martinez Alaba- Robben James Ribéry- Lewandowski

Ok now I'm confused, I was under the impression it's head-to-head first and THEN goal difference?!
