Im never going to be not annoyed looking back on this i really wanted lahm to get his second trophy in his final game. Its obvious only us and barcelona can beat real madrid at the moment. Looking through this thread when someone compared kroos an casemiro to our double pivot i dont agree thats the same but that was peps biggest mistake dropping martinez instead of keeping the formula with him and schweini shielding the defence guardiola wasted two years with obscure tactics. The third year i think he got it right and we were just unlucky against atleti. Just feel the last two years we were one moment from getting through the toughest challenge if we had we could have won both of these. Theres no point dwelling on it more but we can definitely get our win in this soon.

CR7 will go down as the best goalscorer ever, scoring 5 against Bayern, hattrick against Atletico and killing Juventus in the final as much as he is quite an unlikeable guy(at least for me) he is maybe the greatest goalscorer who ever played the game. Real Madrid were deservedly the CL winners, I'm frustrated that those scumbags made the back to back since Barca of Pep and Bayern of Heynckes where much better teams to look up at their peak but couldn't manage to achieve that yet Real Madrid did that with a very meh style for my taste. Nevertheless their roster is beyond world class.

To reach our previous level our midfield needs some adjustments, enough is enough, Kroos-Modric-Casemiro are bossing every team giving them a hell of a time on the pitch, so good overall that it's abnormal with that consistency. We have to reach that level somehow in the midfield section and we need to make those adjustments this summer, midfield have been a liability for the last 4 years in a row, the connection between a solid defense and transition is lost in many times, bring the stability back in the midfield and we are back on track. I have said in the past that we need some changes there tactical or arrival/departures or both, clearly.

Luckily Modric will start go downhill soon, probably gets slower etc.

Because that midfield is so effective

Just in time Isco will be ready soon to replace him. Never-ending nightmare.

They can even go for Thiago since Mazinho and Florentino Perez are good friends, can you imagine if after all Kroos and Thiago end up partnering in midfield as a regular fixture and it does not happen at Bayern Munich?

only one single Bayern player on the Champions League squad (not starting XI, squad) of the season. pretty much sums up our performance... heads up, work hard, and better luck next year!

I'm too broken after what I saw on Saturday. It seems there's no justice in the World. Seeing Madrid of all teams break the CL hoodoo and the way they did it made my stomach churn. I felt a mixture of despair and emptiness when the 90 minutes were up. I've lost my faith in this tournament. No magic and too much corruption. It has become a circus where Spanish teams are helped to the point of blatant bias.

I'll be taking a voluntary hiatus from watching the CL again until someone (hopefully Bayern) can end this reign of tyranny in the CL. I just feel like I should never watch a CL game again. Really very disappointed :(

That's the joke you see? What about Casemiro not being suspended from this list?

Either way, I wasn't sleeping... They may well play on weekends occasionally, if they don't interfere with domestic matches... I mean seriously, CL doesn't have that many matches - nonsense...

Maybe we will move this point to a new thread if it goes on but my general point is why is it that the more important game for the CL which is the final can be played on a Saturday and none is complaining while the semis and group stages have to be played on weekdays where you can be busy and the time schedules allow for only a few hours of prime-time for the main markets world wide?

Having the Europa League final played on a Thursday was ridiculous in my opinion. You lose the entire American continent for example and the same happens for the entire CL season. If you look over at Europe, having the games on Saturday or Sunday where you have AT LEAST more free time that during the week means you can watch more than your alma matter and possibly a handful of games. I know ramsej is protesting, but just give him 12 x hours of back to back CL time on the weekend and see how he stops complaining bout the new time frame. :P

Erm... Cause by the time they play the final domestic leagues are over already...

Not many people would regret him doing so at that point...

For me, too much refereeing bias towards Real Madrid in the QFs, SFs and Final game made it such that Real Madrid, despite being one of the top teams in Europe, is an undeserved winner of the Champions League, as their opponents were treated unfairly in those rounds...

Yes lets not forget the refs. In big games when the teams are so leveled any small advantage counts. And lets not forget how lucky Real was even in the final game with 2 shots being deflected..
