It's not you. The impossible, according to Pep. has been proven not so impossible.
Evidence for me that with a more astute game plan, even with the injuries Bayern could have won the Barca tie.

Astute game plan = 3-1 defeat with a full squad on a neutral venue

Pep completely stupid tactics = 5-3 aggregate with half of the squad available

Which do you think that could've been the score today if Juventus were missing Tevez, Pogba, Vidal and Lichsteiner? :coffee:

Really would not like to go back to this discussion again, but the conversation was focusing more on Messi - in the end stopping the whole Barca team seems pretty impossible for the last 9 months or so.

We don't need this CL final to see that, we need only revisit our second leg against them. I'd say we DID restrain Messi as much as Juventus did last night (he still had flashes of brilliance, with those lobbing through balls especially) - but then we as well as Juventus left Neymar too much opportunity to wreak havoc. On the other hand, in the first leg we relatively contained Neymar and Suarez but then Messi had too much room.

Bottom line, this Barcelona attack is simply ridiculously better than that of 2-3 years ago as well as the Argentina NT. While I disagree with Pep that stopping Messi is impossible, once you started getting a grip on that you just realised you have to deal with two more absolutely lethal forwards in their prime.

Here in the UK that was our last chance to see the CL on free TV. From next season it requires a subscription to watch CL and EL

apparently in Italy it is the same... I don't know in Malta but one can have a subscription with a subscriber but the National TV station airs one game every Wed, hope it stays cause not everyone has the means for a subscription.
I watch on Sat TV Sky Deutschland... Hope it won't change... Cause the Maltese Company is a rip off...

They've won it more times in 9 years than every team in Europe except 4 have done in their entire history. =D>

Btw it is the first time since 1982 (our loss vs Aston Villa) that a team surrendered their title to a team from the same country.

Thats not entirely true, ITV will still get to show 1 of each of the English teams games and the Final of both the CL and EL. ITV have also only had the Tuesday night games and the Final for a while now. ITV will still also get to show highlights from every round as well.

As a German football fan this is actually good news that it will be only on BT Sport next season, as they also have the exclusive rights for the Bundesliga and the DFB Pokal in the UK. This means I will no longer have to pay subscriptions to 2 Channels (Sky and BT) to watch Bayern games instead I will only have to pay for BT Sport. A subscription to BT Sport is way cheaper than it is for Sky Sports, £15 for BT Sport and £22.50 for Sky Sports. Therefore Not only will i save myself £7.50 a month to watch the CL, but also the £22.50 for Sky Sports! :D

And who thought Pep was realistic three or four years ago?

Hectic game so far.

That's true, but I doubt they'll let go of him next year seeing as he has one hand on the treble as we speak. If Guardiola extends then it won't make much difference anyway.

I just read that he wouldn't even give a definitive assertion that he would be with Barca even next season (2015/16) after last night's game, even though he's under contract until 2016.
