I believe when the Champions are Already a Seed 1(As both Juventus and Barca will be as Winners of their respective leagues). The Winners of the 8th Best League get the Seed 1 spot reserved for the CL Champions. The reason that this season PSV rather than Kiev get this spot is because the Coefficients are done a season in Advance (End of 2014/15 Season Rankings count for 2016/17 qualification spots). It would be silly if suddenly midway through the season the amount of CL/ EL qualifying spots your league has changed.

Ukraine taking over Holland in the Rankings will not come into Effect until the 2016/17 season as explained above.

Also for those above questioning the rules regarding the Europa League Champions getting a Champions League spot, check out this article:

http://www.uefa.org/about-uefa/executiv ... 56131.html

The UEFA Europa League winners will be granted access to the play-offs of the subsequent UEFA Champions League season. The UEFA Europa League winners could even gain direct access to the group stage should the UEFA Champions League title holders also qualify via their domestic league, thus freeing up a place in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

Basically the Europa League Champions get a spot in the Playoff Rounds, but if the Champions League Winners have already qualified for the group stage via their Domestic league (which Juve and Barca both have), The Group stage spot reserved for the CL Champions would be given to the EL winners instead.

No italian has ever won a Champs league in Germany ... 1993 Milan lost to Marseille in Muenchen
BVB defeated Juve in Muenchen 1997
1979 Nott F won it in Stuttgart
1988 PSV
1959 Real
2012 :(

Before the news of chiellini's inj I was thinking that Juve have a big chance. However they are going to miss his powerfull headers especially in set pieces in their favour. If they will manage a good defensive display they can make barca suffer with their deadly duo of Tevez / Morata.
As for the game itself I am 51%neutral... But I really do not want to hear the local juve fans and the italian media speaking of a tripletta all your long...
I know that one would still has to suffer the barca/Messi/Neymar fanboys but to be honest I prefer the latter...

Yes, Chiellini is a big loss. They couldn't have lost a more crucial player in my opinion. I always thought Barca would win, but now I'm expecting to score 3+ goals. I'm looking forward for the game and as a neutral I'm obviously hoping for an exciting one, but to be honest I think the tie will end very quickly, probably in the first half.

I don't mind Barca winning it, they deserve it. Juve, well, you're Maltese too so enough said. I don't think Barca will be as bad as having to suffer Real or Chelsea fans in recent years.

I actually find that Barca fans are relatively honourable. I'm backing them too, I never liked underdogs in any sport or competition at all and moreover I don't want to see Juve fans running around thinking they're the best in Europe like Chelsea 2012, because they're not. Predicting 3-0 for Barca although I wanted to see Buffon lift the CL trophy for once (but not at the expense of Juve running their mouth), he's the only Italian player I have soft spot for.

All my neighbors are Juve fans .. I don't know how but somehow half of Juve fans in Albania live near me :P
If Juve wins I'll hear "storia di un grande amore, bianco che abbraccia il nero" for the rest of the summer. If they win, tonight I'll sing along. I've always despised that team but I don't want Barca to win, not after they demolished us. Tonight, Juve will be my grande amore. I am hoping they will score an early goal and then park the bus.

ZDF are devastated that there will be no duel between the biter and the bitten one... they've already prepared extras
And Olli Kahn seems quite fond of Luis Enrique. How come his name never turns up in our coach transfer thread?
