They weren't really ever a threat since Dzeko left until last year if you look at the previous encounters... Dzeko was a monster, gave me headaches at the time.

You mean that inconsistent guy who's lifted to footballing heaven after scoring 2 goals against Gent just to play like a turd in the next game?
He's so overrated.

He has class but as you said he is inconsistent...
I think he lacks strenght...
And maybe he is too soft. Unfortunately this is the trend to most Germans of this generation...too soft...gone are the days of Basler Moller Effe Kahn Kohler Bouchwald, Berthold, Schumacher, and the ones before them...
Germans have become too soft...

You don't need to be an asshole to be a good footballer.

So all the above are as you said?:-o
Those are true legends...
I ve forgot Matthaus ... Jeremies, ziege...
I don't think a true German will speak like that on past heros...
So who is Reus always inj? Or Oezil walking - football or the ones who dont live without facebook/twitter?

It's not necessarily a bad trait to be an asshole on the pitch.
It's funny how you mention Reus' injuries, yet you mention Jeremies who was pretty much finished after having to get "made" fit for the CL final in 2002 and generally struggling with injuries. Speaking about facebook and twitter is also easy considering those things didn't exist during their time.
I'm happy german football has distanced itself from the "german" style of playing football. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.
Draxler is simply not good enough. That doesn't seem to apply to a huge bunch of german players though since it's not been too long since we won a certain trophy in Brazil :?

ok  fine two points for you there...
But i meant that most players today have a lot of things / tools to alienate them from their job

Didn't seem to hurt them in 2014.
Also that pretty much applies to every human living who has access to a computer

Time for Medhi to get some real fighting practise.
Start him against VFL, rest against Mainz, start against BVB and he'll be ready for Juve.

We have to put out a top team.

I'd give Costa a rest and play it safe with Ribéry, continuing to use him as a sub for the next match or two.
Hopefully Götze can play 15-30 minutes.
Vidal off the bench for Benatia or one of the CMs

I want to see a similar line-up to yesterday, but with Ribéry and Coman.

--------- Lewy --------------------
Ribéry --------- Müller --- Coman
--------- Thiago - Vidal -------------
Alaba - Benatia - Kimmich - Lahm
-------------- Neuer -----------------

then against Mainz:

--------------- Lewy --------------------
Costa ---Götze - Müller --- Robben
------------- Alonso -------------
Bernat - Rafinha - Kimmich - Lahm
-------------- Neuer -----------------

and BVB:

--------- Lewy --------------------
FR/DC --------- Müller --- Robben
--------- Thiago - Vidal -------------
Alaba - Benatia - Kimmich - Lahm
-------------- Neuer -----------------
Would be great if we had Martínez on the bench for this one already.

Main priority will be getting Benatia into competition mode while keeping him alive and giving Robben and Ribéry as much games as possible while getting them enough rest. Challenge will be to find a balance. Also Costa will need a rest. Kimmich should get as much playing time as possible, he's not played much in the first half of the season and needs to get better in defense.
