I agree with MUTU. However, I hope we have a comfortable enough lead to be able to rest Gomez a little as a precaution and also give some time to Petersen, who is slowly improving.
Super Bayern! Super Bayern! Hey! Hey!

Ahhh silly spelling error!!! I knew that as well.. doesn't help having a close friend with the surname spelt Peterson.... :D

I agree in the case that he is fit, I would just hate him to suffer a more major setback and be out for 2 weeks+, especially with city coming up.

I watched their game vs Steau on Thursday and Shalke failed to score and looked very lackluster in most fascets of the game.
Needless to say, at home in the league against Bayern they will show a different face but we can easily beat them and keep another cleen sheet if we just keep Bayern focus as we have lately.

Less than 24 hours left for this match! Does anyone know if Schalke have injury troubles of their own?

Could I add this: Does anyone know the status of our own injured as well? Namely Gomez & Olić...

Olic will not be in the Squad

about Gomez , it will be decided later (probably before the match as usual)

Gomez & Van Buyten are going to travel with the team to Gelsenkirchen

but it is going to be decided later whether they are fit to play or not

Well, Jurado is not getting too much playing time with Rangnick this season. I only remember him playing against Mainz. I guess that Holtby won't play as CM tomorrow and Rangnick will use 2 CDM. But Holtby will play in a more offensive position.

Heynckes said the decision for Gomez to play would be made right before the match based on how Gomez feels and that Peterson is ready to start for the first time.
I don't think Van Buyten would be in the starting line-up even if fit.

I'm sure Heynckes did not say "Peterson" :P

Well I pretty much like the fact the Petersen might start this game... There are high expectations for this guy and this is the exact right chance for him to prove his worth... I surely do not expect him to cause a riot in the Schalke defense and score aplenty considering the tough opponents and his lack of experience... Nontheless, we should expect from him a decent outing in which he proves capable of handling high-level defenses, and not just being our "Kid" player....

I liked Petersen in the 20 minutes he played against Freiburg and also in the second half against Villareal. He is improving and I wouldn't mind starting him that much. However, considering it will be his first time in the starting lineup, I'd rather it came against an easier team.

Line up (from bundesliga.de):

----------Neuer
Rafinha-Boateng-Badstuber-Lahm
--------Gustavo-Schweini
------Muller-Kroos-Ribery
----------Petersen

Bench
Butt
DVB
Contento
Pranjic
Tymo
Alaba
Usami

So Gomez is not even in the bench. We are running a bit short of attackers....
