[2012-02-18] SC Freiburg vs Bayern Munich

Postby MatchBot » Mon Feb 13, 2012 11:25 am

Image vs Image

Competition: Fußball-Bundesliga
Venue: badenova-Stadion, Freiburg
Kick off:

Fresh from beating Stuttgart and Kaiserslautern, FC Bayern minus Schweinsteiger and with Robben mostly sitting on the bench have hit good form. This is the last match before the Champions League last 16 match, away to FC Basel which will be played four days later.

Freiburg will be a weaker force this time round, having sold their top striker (and former FC Bayern transfer target) Papiss Cissé last month.

Dortmund, on their hand, still linger 2 points ahead at the top of the Bundesliga table, so Bayern certainly don't afford to rest any players.

Lets build on the improvement of the last two games.

I predict a solid 3-0 win.

Double for Müller and one for Gomez!

So under normal circumstances, the table should stay the same after this matchday :S

I'll get the ball rolling with predictions for Line up

-----------------Butt-----------------------

Boateng - Breno - Badstuber - Contento

---------------- Gustavo -------------------

Usami ---------------------------- Pranjic

----------------Mueller---------------------

------ Olic ------------ Petersen -----------

Seriously (though the above team should still beat Freiburg)...

------------------ Neuer -----------------------

Rafinha --- Boateng --- Badstuber --- Lahm

--------- Gustavo -------------Alaba-----------

Robben ------------ Kroos -------------Ribery

-------------------- Gomez --------------------

I think with the way Robben has played when he came on against Kaiserslautern he might get a game before Mueller. If Jupp wants to keep Mueller in the team, then he'll play Kroos in Schweini's position and Mueller in CAM

I think Tymoshchuk will play to rest Gustavo for Basel. And Robben to start.

On the other hand Muller also finally scored. I only watched the first half of the last game so I cannot judge how Robben played that day. I do not know who of Robben and Muller will play, but I think it's very likely that Alaba will play in CM, not Kroos.

Robben should start, but if we are seriously to reach the final, we should bench Ribery , Gomez and Kroos .

Bayern are notorious for losing matches to bottom level teams so I hope they show up to win, and win big, against Freiburg. They must take all three points!

Do you mean the 7-0 against Freiburg this year or the 1-8 against St. Pauli last season?

If we didn't load too much FCK last Saturday, then we must get that in forthcoming match.

We can expect once again Müller on right side, Alaba on Bastian's position, Robben on bench. Not to forget to mention, Boateng on CB and this match will be 3rd in row without conceding a goal.

More like the 2-3 loss to Mainz this year, ties with Hoffenheim and Hamburg and barely beating Augsburg. Add to that last year's loss to Kaiserslautern, along with another loss to Mainz, a loss to Koln, and ties with Nurnberg, Frankfurt, Wolfsburg & "Glabach (who were in the bottom three at the time). Recent history clearly shows Bayern play down a level against these teams and sometimes it bites them square on the ass.
