We're not just talking about the Barca game here.

Good job putting words in my mouth :)

Poor job answering my question.

I don't think that's what they said at all.

Oh yes, it was. The both of them complained about the lack of defensive stability.

Yes, and? bastos80 said that defense starts from the front and that without someone like Robben who can keep the ball in the attacking third of the field, we're more defensively frail because we're more likely to lose the ball. How does that go against what Kahn or Sammer said? He never said that Sammer or Kahn don't know what they're talking about so you're just putting words into his mouth.

I meant they as in bastos80 not Kahn and Sammer. Sorry, if that was confusing.

I don't understand where you're getting at. Now we're depending on Robben not only for attacking effectivness, but also for defensive stability?

We can't be depending on one player, no matter who it is, for success.

Not Robben in particular but in general it's true what bastos80 said about defense starting from the attack. Just that a fully functioning attack makes the workload easier on the defense. If our attack were functioning better, our defense would look better too, like in the hinrunde. I don't think Barca's defense is amazing or anything but MSN makes the job of their defense much easier.

Better attack takes the pressure off from the defense as the other team can't just go out crazy in attack.

If you ever played football yourself you'd know that even with the best defense, you're going to have a tough time defending 90 Minutes against good attackers when the rest of the team doesn't relieve pressure and loses the ball inside seconds up front.
Our team never was and never will be made for defending 90 minutes. That isn't even needed.

No. Why would I marry someone who's trolling me? It's a good thing this forum has an ignore function.
