Very important, but also very tricky, match. On one hand, it'll be hard to not have the 2nd leg vs Porto in the back of the players' and the manager's minds; on the other hand, a negative result could put more pressure on in the Bundesliga, and I wouldn't feel too comfortable with Wolfsburg only 7 points behind us. It'll will be difficult, as I'm sure some players will be feeling the effects of these rough midweek games, and Hoffenheim are a good attacking bunch.

God I hope Ribéry and Schweinsteiger can make the match day squad, though I doubt that it's possible.

you are right... but some players need a rest big time...
I d play Dante with Bads, Alonso (in order not to play the 2nd leg) and Goetze.... that s all and maybe some mins to Lewa. The rest all youth players.

I'm assuming that Badstuber, Benatia and Schweini will be back by the Porto game... no idea about Robbery though. But if they are back, we have a lot of rotation options for Hoppenheim.

If our CL fixtures had been TUE-WED instead of WED-TUE then I'd advocate fielding a full strength lineup here, really - momentum needs to be kickstarted.

I would like to see Muller, Lewa, Boateng, Alonso, and Bernat have a rest for this game.

Neuer might need the game to regain some "super" form.

Or maybe he needs to rest the bursitis in his knee. I think there was a reason for Lucic being the one to be added to the squad. You know, it's not normal that a team has 2 goalkeepers on the bench in a CL match.

Are there enough players available to do this much rotation? If you take yesterday's line-up, Pizza surely isn't fit enough to start for Lewa, Reina for Neuer, Bastuber for Boa, Weiser for Bernat, Rode for Alonso, and Gaudino for Muller? That would require some serious shuffling of the cards from Pep.

Of course if an injured player made their return, that would change things.

Last time Bayern celebrate a bundesliga title by being already eliminated from champions league was in 2006 with Felix Magath. I remember that this championship was very celebrated with a lot of beer because champions league was not an obsession and a goal like now it is.

After these 9 years, when Bayern won the bundesliga title, they still alive in champions league, so will be interest to see how far players will celebrate this title if we don't reach to semifinal of champions league, maybe they will drink more beer than normal because season will lost interest from them, if they don't beat Porto.
Super-Bayern! Super-Bayern! Hey! Hey!

Yes, but for this they will have a month, but despite this possible final, the season will not be the same.

I'd rather see the junior team against Hoffenheim. One of the main issues of why we are playing so badly is players are just not moving enough. They need to constantly seek better positions for Pep's game to work, and they just aren't. That might be because of fatigue. Of so is the case, we have a 10 pts buffer to keep Wolfsburg off, and I will give them a rest.
