I told you many times that Lewa was never a great finisher, I guess some of you didn't listen.

And who is great finisher for you? You got Immobile who does shit for BVB, At least Lewa plays now what Guardiola wants him to do half forward and half midfielder. Looking at play time it looks he does what coach wants, as it was situation at BVB. It looks to me that BVB has to buy Ronaldo and at once they do it, they will be on top of BL again. Dreamer.
If you look at distribution of goals it looks to me pretty even among forwards at Bayern, Guardiola does not care who scores but final result is what counts and every player input to it. Maybe at some point you will understand it.
And listen who cares what you say, I've read your posts for more than 3 years at Totalfootball and everything you said turned into .... expert!
Why anybody should listen to you, leave them alone with their thoughts, they asses situation a bit better than you.

Meh. Still scored with his back over Joe Hart, "third best keeper in the world" ;)

I'm not against Lewa or anything (quite the contrary actually) but let's admit it, some of the chances he's missed can't be attributed to this.

I really don't understand why Lewandowski is getting so much flak while everybody was sniffing at Mandzukic's underpants not too long ago.

Mandzukic 2012/13:
3 goals in 5 DFB Pokal matches (0.6 goals per match)
15 goals in 24 Bundesliga matches (0.6 goals per match)
3 goals in 10 Champions League matches (0.3 goals per match)
Total: 21 goals in 39 matches (0.54 goals per match)

Mandzukic 2013/14:
4 goals in 4 DFB Pokal matches (1 goal per match)
18 goals in 30 Bundesliga matches (0.6 goals per match)
3 goals in 10 Champions League matches (0.3 goals per match)
Total: 25 goals in 44 matches (0.57 goals per match)

Lewandowski 2014/15:
1 goal in 2 DFB Pokal matches (0.5 goals per match)
6 goals in 12 Bundesliga matches (0.5 goals per match)
2 goals in 5 Champions League matches (0.4 goals per match)
Total: 9 goals in 19 matches (0.47 goals per match)

The stats are not too far off and let's not forget that Lewandowski still needs to adapt. Mandzukic's trend was to score more the easier the opponent and less when the opponent was better (eg Champions League). At least, Lewandowski seems like he's pretty consistent through all competitions so far.

When the striker has been in the top 3 of the top scorers in the league for 3 years, there's an expectation that he can score those easy chances. I'm not against his fancy moves but he can further improve his game if he knows when to do fancy moves and when to keep it simple.

It's perfectly alright for me for Lewa to miss those chances when we are already winning. It would just have been nice if he did though. But alas, life. We can't always get what we want.

I believed that he was an improvement in every aspect... for now he's not. He's not one dimensional but somebody has to score easy chances. I hope he's not a Torres in the making, cause Torres does everything right but lost his finishing. Maybe he just needs competition to get the best out...

something in favor of his (our nr9) is that in his first season at BVB he was in the shadow of Barrios and only managed 9 goals...

Good points.

I liked Mandzukic, and was reluctant to see Lewandowski take his place, but I am convinced Lewandowski is both an upgrade and one of the best strikers in the world. Every striker has a shots-to-goals ratio above 3:1 (many above 5:1). It is relatively immaterial if the odd miss was a sitter.

Lewandowski will deliver.

I think that all young guys on this forum don’t understand one basic point – you can’t come to a star studded team and become instantly the next brilliant star, first you have to be accepted by others and work for them, that’s teams play and you don’t upset the balance, if you do you’ll be shit. Actually is very good for Lewa to show that he is vulnerable too that helps him to be assimilated. Personally I think he is doing much better than I have expected , but this is point for discussion.
I expected that it will be totally wasted year for him but it turns out not to be as bad. Next season will be really one to watch and then we will express our feelings about his performances. For now despite your criticism Bayern (with Lewa) looks like much stronger team than last year, he absorbs a lot of attention of defensive players of other teams, much more than Mandzu and probably that’s what Guardiola wanted. In any case Bayern has always option to make big money on selling him and I don’t think there would be shortage of buyers for big money, what is needed just hint they want to do it. I don’t think it will happen at Guardiola reign though.
Last thought, if you look at those supposedly 100% occasions in slow motion they don’t look that way any more, maybe for you but not for me.
To make things clear I'm fan of Lewa so I can be totally biased, but who is not biased this or other way?

There is also something I'd call a "Guardiola-type striker" - someone who can integrate like a midfielder and pop up and finish like a striker. Probably, Guardiola would like Lewandowski to score a few more goals, but Lewandowski is very much a Guardiola-type striker, and doing the job Guardiola wants.

Pep's system isn't the greatest for a striker. Bayern pass the ball too much so they are trying to pass it into the net. Was surprised he came to Bayern. I'm sure he regrets coming here. The system isn't made for a striker.
