Well, if Bayern Munich is out to break yet another one of its own records, Düsseldorf might just be the right team to do so with history has shown.

This is really, really the time to give Badstuber a break. We have Alaba and Contento back, so there's the perfect scenario.

I believe the team got its first break in modern times by winning the first Pokal against them back in '57; If winning a cup can be considered breaking (or starting) a record that is.

Yeah, we beat them 1:0 in the 1957 Pokalfinale.

We also gave them their biggest ever away defeat in the Bundesliga:
6. February 1982
Bayern 7:0 Fortuna Düsseldorf

However:

They also gave us our biggest ever away defeat in the Bundesliga:
9. December 1978
Fortuna Düsseldorf 7:1 Bayern München

I don't think, that it will be so straightforward. Düsseldorf has a good defens, it will be hard for Bayern to break them.

Got my FC Bayern Tickets for the match from here, good tip.

The 129th anniversary of a Polish fraternity that I get to visit free of charge. I'll be lucky if I'm responsive by the time the game starts.

This match is very important to us in terms of us keeping the pace in the BuLi, hitting the ground running after the break and also breaking a Bundesliga record that SHOULD be exclusively ours....

But you know what's MUCH more important than that?? Defeating Lille in France a couple of days later... that WE MUST win.... otherwise we'll be in serious danger of not advancing from the CL group, which would make us look like clowns in the always-ready-to-attack-BAyern media!!! It would probably also mean recording financial losses after so many years of recording profits in succession!... It would also totally ruin our image... So between an important match and a most-important match, we have to consider the preferences!!!

I would really like us to give Mueller, Schweinsteiger and Ribery a rest before our trip to France... that, considering Robben's almost inevitable absence means we either have to start the match with a 4-4-2 formation, or we go something like this:

Even though I definitely would want Alaba to be our starting LB (generally), I think it would be a good idea to use him as LAM in this match... both for him and for the team...

Yeah, we're not going to field a flat, classical 4-4-2 unless we're feeling suicidal that day.

Fortuna's midfield will most likely look like this:

Lumpi - Voronin - Kruse
------Müller - Bodzek

All of which are cross-breeds between man and horse who will run like Energizer Bunnies and who'll rip a flat 4 man midfield apart like it's no thing. Add Cha, Bellinghausen and Ilsö as surprise weapons and you're in for a rather unpleasant battle in midfield.

I think Martínez is a must in this match. First of all because he's fresh (he has played 0 minutes for Spain during the international break) and second of all because we need a secure option in center midfield to pass the ball to who will not panic when two creatures half-man-half-horse, fired up by 50,000 screaming throats, are charging at him.

I don't think we can spare Ribéry Right now unless he's really too tired to play in Düsseldorf and Lille and catch a break only at home against Leverkusen. Of that he and Heynckes are the best judges of.

Alaba had a great showing over the full 90 for his national team, so I think it's safe to assume he's going to make his first appearance for us. I hope he'll play at LB so we'll hopefully see some of that Alaba/Ribéry magic that made us all so happy last year.

I'd like to see Shaqiri, Gustavo and Contento/Alaba in the starting lineup. Other than that I hope we don't take too much risks with the lineup and win this.

I hope to see another Martinez-Gustavo combo in order to rest Schwein for Lille cause that will be a very important game where if Bayern lose there destiny will not be in there hands. Also I want to see if Martinez can play a more offensive role and Fortuna i think are a weak enough side where he may be given opportunities to play the box to box midfield role.
