This is exactly why there is critique. Never has there been an FC Bayern team that was so disappointing: so talented, so promising and at the same time so devoid of titles.

Personally, I like that formation. Not because of the players on it or anything, but because it shows that Jupp has learned from last season and is actually implementing a proper rotation policy, the lack of which was arguably a major reason for out post-autumn slump in form.

Schweinsteiger's (lack of a) collarbone and (lack of) ankle ligaments were pretty much what ruined our season, at least that's how I see it!

I'm looking forward to this one. It's being shown on ESPN but not until later tonight so rather than be uncomfortable and stream it, i'm going to wait until later and avoid the internet for the day so I can watch it from the comfort of my bed :D

Well Kicker predicts Martinez to start, Schweini on bench.

^ We had brought Martinez in to make him play beside Schweini and both them have played so little together.
Benching Schweini doesn't make sense.
However, I still wonder how Kicker/Bild get their news about the starting XI? :-k
Someone still leaking out like last season? OR are these mere predictions?
But their predictions turn true often! :?

I added "arguably" because this is not the time or the place to beat that old horse again.

One of the main critiques we had in this forum for JH last season was his poor utilization of the rotation policy and mainly restricting it to Kroos/Muller and DvB/Boateng.

Now that we have a deep squad with a LOT of quality, we will definitely be seeing a minimum of 2 rotations per game. That's the only way to keep player morale high so that we can depend on them when needed. As such, Martinez-Gustavo doesn't seem a bad idea for today's game, especially since we are playing AWAY from home against one of the most on-form teams currently in Germany. As far as the following game concerns, I'll be even asking for Tymo to start in order to keep the guy fresh.

The statement that there has never been a more disappointing FC Bayern is ridiculous.

First of all, I was talking about 2012/13 Bayern. I would hardly call them disappointing, having won 5 of 5 matches and a title to boot.

Second of all, there were more disappointing years than the one where we went to two different finals and came in second in the Bundesliga, don't you think? The fact that it hurts more to come so close and not win it, doesn't make the team worse or the overall achievement less valuable in an absolute sense than, say, the 91/92 season, where we came in 10th in the Bundesliga, lost to FC Homburg in the 2nd round of the DFB Pokal and got dismantled 6:2 in the 2nd round of the UEFA-Cup by FC Copenhagen.

OK, so I add him as a "foe", then, or what? I can't seem to find the "Ignore" option.

This might actually be a pretty good idea. I wondered how well Martinez would do in a more roaming box-to-box role (his few ventures near the goal line have all be superb).
