I love how Vidal plays on the edge when yellow-carded. His attitude stays the same and you get a feeling he will get a red card, but yet again he somehow stays hard in duels, but a bit softer, I cant explain exactly

I've watched him at Bayer, I watch him with Chile and I watched him with Juventus - he deffo has matured and knows how to keep his composure. Back in the days he played the same, but sometimes he acted like a headless chicken and overdid the tackles and his aggresion. That is gone now.

Vidal got an undeservedly yellow card. He got the ball, pointed this to the referee but he immediately gestured to Vidal that he hit the player's leg. Frustrating.

The team is not ready yet, obviously. Transitioning from a disciplined system of play like Guardiola's into a free-roaming style Ancelotti prefers can have some bumps at the start. That said, for 75 minutes, we were less capable of creating chances than Schalke was. Considering we have an experienced tridente playing up front, it's a bit of a cause for concern. Ribery and Alonso were out of sync in particular. But Weinzerl is a good coach and knows how to give Bayern a difficult gave, coach notwithstanding.

And for all the talk about Kimmich, Sanches and Vidal, it was Thiago who completely glued together the midfield today. He's such a well-rounded midfielder, it's a pity people stereotype him as some sort of passing dandy and little else.
The ideal team

LOL. He missed a lot of pass and technical trick who put the team in danger.

Vidal and Kimmich makes the work. Not Thiago any sec.
Bayern 3-3-3-1 build-up under Heynckes :
Neuer - Boateng Hummels Thiago - Kimmich Vidal Alaba - Robben Müller James - Lewandowski
Neuer- Boateng Vidal Hummels- Kimmich Martinez Alaba- Robben James Ribéry- Lewandowski

Yeah, he really looked finished in this game... showing his age.

I dissagree. He 's been "finished" ever since we got him. Look at Spain 2014 wc games. He was the main player in previous possession obsessed system, which was very suited to his capabilities. He always looked terrible without the ball and against defensively aware opposition in this direct system he will always have a hard time, but he still excels on the ball when he has space like against Bremen (ok, he wasn't bad off the ball either but it was Bremen). It's not like he had a bad night, he was just his usual self. Yesterday was no exception.

On another note, besides Costa and Martinez I think Alaba's performance was also perfect yesterday, he worked great with Ribery and Costa and had one great crossover.
