You all think you are soooo smart. :P Schalke will score because Guardiola's Bayern play the same attacking football no matter if Bayern play away in Gelsenkirchen or at home. That's why I think Schalke will hurt you on the counter, it won't be like last games when Bayern was playing it safe against Schalke.

Looking forward to this match. It's hard, and Schalke is in great form and have very good names that can make a difference. Another real test for Pep :pep:

I'd say the biggest test so far. We seem to be on an improvement path, and this game will say whether it is actually that way or not.

Yup, especially when we're talking about "Bundesliga" tests. Hopefully, Bastian will start and Lahm will retake his beloved RB position.

Im going for a "safe" prediction. If you win, Ill get some points. If you draw, Ill get less or no points but I will be happy so I won't care about predictions. :D

Neuer has yet to concede against Schalke. Lol.
Kevin Prince Boateng's facial hair has been giving me nightmares. What the hell is that sweatbeard?!

Seems like Lahm will anchor the midfield vs Schalke on the weekend.....
Philipp Lahm will again deputise for Bastian Schweinsteiger when Bayern Munich play Schalke on Saturday.

Schweinsteiger had made a brief comeback during the 3-0 Champions League win against CSKA Moscow on Tuesday after struggling with an ankle injury this season.

However, he has told kicker that he is not up to making a full return this weekend, saying: "That’s too early. The ankle felt good but, of course, the fitness is not back to where it should be.

"I’m delighted to have been able to play for 20 minutes."

Before the game against CSKA, Schweinsteiger had already been an unused substitute in the Hannover game last weekend.

"That was okay. I had just returned to training," Schweinsteiger said. "I was only there as an emergency back-up. That was all arranged with the coach."

With Spain internationals Javi Martinez and Thiago Alcantara still sidelined, Germany captain Lahm is set for another game in holding midfield.

Lahm, who has been called “one of the most intelligent players I ever coached” by Bayern coach Pep Guardiola, had -- to the surprise of many -- been moved to midfield during pre-season.

"I like that position, no doubt about that," Lahm said and refused to rule out staying in midfield once all the injured players have returned to the Bayern squad.

"That could be," he added. "I know that the coach likes it when I play as the number six or in the half positions in midfield."

Meanwhile, Mario Gotze is set to return to first-team training three weeks after suffering an ankle injury in the UEFA Super Cup final victory against Chelsea, the club confirmed on their official website. However, no date was set for the return of Martinez or Alcantara.

I'd love that but I can't see it. It will be really close in my opinion, 1:2 or 0:1 perhaps?

Can't wait for this game. Firstly because Im hoping for Bayern to lose some points ( :D ), secondly because it should be a cracking game. Kevin Prince Boateng brought some character to the team and they look like a completely different side since he signed for the club. I think Bayern will get a narrow 2-1 win but who knows. Hannover showed its not so hard to create chances against Bayern, efficiency is what matters. I believe Schalke will have some good opportunites and it will just be in their hands to use them well.

Bayern players are adapting to Guardiola's style every day, they will only get better. And Schweini is back now, Gotze and Martinez have almost recovered. This should be an manageable game. Dortmund are two points above Bayern because they have already adapted their style and they haven't really played against good teams. Their game vs Napoli shows that they are beatable by mediocre Europe teams.
