Personally I'm hoping for a return to right back for Lahm for this match, to see what effect it has on the defence (hopefully it will make the others buck up a bit). Realistically though, I would say:

-------------Mandzukic
Ribery---Kroos-----Gotze/Thiago-----Muller
-----------------Lahm
Alaba---Boateng----Dante----Rafinha

Robben might make a cameo instead of Muller in the last few minutes.

BTW: How do you get that fancy green turf thing to do predictions? It looks so... greeeen

I dont understand how much are we going to play with Lahm DM and why. Schweini or Martinez should be there and Lahm as RB.

The formation I'd like to see, as unrealistic as it is:

We'll probably play like this though:

My (preferential) prediction (considering Robben and Schweinsteiger still unfit for this match):

But like most of you I would imagine Lahm will be starting in dm, with Martinez playing there late in the game.

This will be a very, very tough match for us. Gladbach have been very impressive this season and still haven't lost a point at home if I'm not mistaken. Ideally, I would've preferred another match straight after the winter break lol!

I think Lahm will still play in DM as well, hoping it's Javi though.

As much as I want Javi to be the sole DM, the issue, I believe, is that Pep doesn't see it that way. He needs a player with excellent passing and game-building abilities. And he'd rather have that than an excellent tackler or destroyer. All the more reason he's tried Basti, Thiago and now Lahm there.
I fear for Javi's place because IMHO Pep isn't going to start him at 6. He's been trying to find a new place for Javi all the time.
I am not sure about training sessions but if he'd have planned/deployed Javi there for practice, he'd surely have given him a go at 6 from the start.
Instead it's always been temporary displacements.

I, too, have been reluctant to acknowledge it, but I fear that you've summed up Javi's situation quite accurately.

I'd be surprised to see any player with the slightest injury starting in this game. They may come on as substitutes. So, based on that assumption, it is unlikely to that we'll see Schweinsteiger, Robben, Goetze or Martinez starting.

I think Bayern can win it.

The Bayern players played a match together and Mandzukic scored twice. He's looking good for a place in the starting XI. [source]
