Tomorrow, Bochum will entertain Bayern at 5pm. My prediction is a 2-0 win for Bayern

Bayern vs Bochum

Postby podolski4life » Sat Aug 19, 2006 6:07 pm

Bochum just got promoted, am I right?
2:0 win sounds pretty sweet, but they're gonna need to score more goals to get out of 7th place.
Schweini is on fire right now!! His passes during the Germany-Sweden game were nothing short of beautiful. Lahmi is doing a great job too.
ehhh.... not so much for Poldi. He hasn't been doing so well lately. =(
'Prinz Poldi' is unlikely to start at the newly (and curiously) renamed rewirpowerSTADION, where the last few tickets for the clash were sold many weeks ago, as Magath has indicated his intention to field the starting line-up which performed so impressively in defeating Dortmund 2-0. Podolski will have to content himself with a substitute's role for the time being.

I really hope Poldi pulls himself out of this little slump.

here's a preview of the match: http://www.fcbayern.t-com.de/en/news/ne ... 75298c3b49

Probable line-ups:

VfL Bochum: Skov-Jensen - Lense, Maltritz, Drsek, Bönig - Dabrowski, Zdebel - Ilicevic, Misimovic, Trojan - Fabio Junior

Bayern Munich: Kahn - Sagnol, Lucio, van Buyten, Lahm - Salihamidzic, Ottl, Hargreaves, Schweinsteiger - Makaay, Santa Cruz

Referee: Rafati (Hanover)
"Tactics? What tactics?" - Mark van Bommel to Felix Magath after being accused of lack of effort and tactical discipline.

I think he'll play more than the last 5 minutes in this match. Magath is always full of surprises, he may well field him from the start...

Yeah, I hope so.
Do you think he's suffering the come-back syndrome? Or is it the fluctuations in performance that every young player goes through?
Bochum will be relying on defence from what i gather.

I think he just needs to adapt to a new team, and a new feeling of not being the most important player at the club.

My prediction is going to be a simple 1-0 bayern, and the goal will come from a set piece, looking at the likely midfield, there really isn't anyone who will provide service to Makaay like he would want it!

But their midfield is weak as well, don't forget... I think they will just defend deeply. Schweinsteiger might get a shot or two on target...

He did play a bit more than 5 minutes, and he played quite well in the short period of time that he had.

I don't understand why Magath has so much faith in him. They've always told us the kid's promising, but to be honest the only time I've seen him play ok was at the 2002 World Cup for Paraguay.

I disagree, fair enough, he's not an out and out striker and shouldn't be played as such, but I can only think of two or three bayern players who's ball controll and awareness is better...

if he was to be played behind podolski and makaay, I think he'd be a phenomonon
