I think you are right, but his first half display was outstanding, the best half he has played in a Bayern shirt. The thing I like the most about him are his first-touch through balls. Once he gets more used to the way his teammates run into open spaces he is gonna be even better.

K just finished reading all the comments. Seems like our attack is even more fluid now. Sounds amazing cant wait till i see the long highlights (a.k.a the whole match).

And Muller is just saving his hat-tricks for the champions league. 8)

Muller is looking a bit frustrated recently for not scoring. I sure hope (and expect) that he gets his confidence-boosting goal against Villareal. In the end he remains one of the best BIG game performers.

I don't think he's frustrated. He is a smart enough kid to know that his contributions on the pitch are invaluable even when he doesn't net a goal.

Mueller should officially change his family name to Einstein
Ribery was UNIVERSE CLASS :P
Gomez Scored
Kroos gave damn good passes
and Schweinsteiger was controlling everything

Cant Imagine this team with Robben in

and Keeping Kroos as CM , and Robben in for Gustavo

It was pretty amazing, and deserves all the superlatives. Especially Ribery, in my humble opinion - definitely man of the match rather than Gomez (who was great, it must be said, really confident). But Ribery looked like all the 2 years of van Gaal's rule never happened! Remember how Robbery was the best winger duo in the world when Ribery was underperforming? What the holy tits is it now then if Ribery can play as good as Robben!?!

The thing with Ribery is that he desperately needed some confidence to improve his game... recently, we can see him pretty much confident and satisfied with his performances... a couple of consistent games and I think we will see the "Universe" class Ribery for a long period (God forbids any injuries of course) :D

So I took a gander at the Bundesliga Liveticker (I think I'm going to do this after every game, the data they have is great), and made some observations:

1) Freiburg was just completely outplayed. We had nearly THREE TIMES as many passes as they did. This type of domination is really rare for a top league match. Even more importantly, our passes were extremely accurate, with 9 out of 10 passes reaching their target.

2) Their goalie saved their bacon today. We had 26 shots on goal, and 7 goals, so 19 saves for Baumann. If we had faced a poorer goalkeeper, our goal number would be in the double-digits now.

3) Ribery topped the charts with 26 sprints (next being Gomez with 17). He just tore the defense apart with his running.

4) Kroos is really not the threat at goal we need him to be. Despite an assist, his shooting has been poorer and poorer lately. He had 5 shots at goal and none scored. For comparison, Gomez had 5 SOG too, and 4 goals.

5) Schweini was on fire today. He topped the distance traveled charts, and interestingly enough, had the most crosses (4) which means that he roamed around the pitch a lot, mostly to the wings. He also had the highest amount of balls touched and passes, so he was pretty much the Schweini we've been missing since the World Cup ended.

Yea, Kroos played great in the first-half.
I'd like to see Kroos start scoring along with Muller, because Muller + Kroos is really our Robben replacement and were not sure if Robben is going to be back for our next challenging stretch of games.
Ribery played great and that always makes me happy, along with Gomez scoring 4.
Would love to see Kroos be put next to Schweini when Robben returns.

Yeah he was very efficient today, although admittedly he had a few very easy chances. Then again, Gomez sometimes misses those too.

By the way, the heatmap backs up my theory about Schweini roaming around the pitch - he was EVERYWHERE.
