I was not advocating anything I was just thinking about an alternative if / when the wingers are not available or not in the best of forms.

The problem in Pep's system was not so much the inverted FB (I'm sure Alaba and Lahm enjoyed that). It was the rigidity of the movement. Pep is a micromanager who likes telling his players exactly were to move. That's why Ribery says he feels liberated, he gets freedom to decide when to go in and when to go out.

Not really want to start any coaching flames or anything, but finally I enjoy the way my team is playing.

Not that we didn't play well last 3 years, but just it wasn't my cup of tea ...

No you are wrong: they were in the hospital and when Ribs says that he feels now liberated and motivated it has nothing to do with Guardiola. He is talking about the public healthcare system in Germany.
