It's no argument that Muller is currently more deserving of the starting role than Robben. But the latter's performance yesterday really showed how much he missed from match practice. Give him a couple of more games in the next few weeks, and he'll be back to his best(ish). Muller is our starting winger, but Robben's return would give us a whole bunch of options up front.

Top teams in Europe begin their season in February. That is when rotation is not a luxury but survival. Like I said, Gómez and Robben were to be played and they already have two matches in one week. The results, never mind the weak opposition, are starting to show up.

I hope the players keep their eye on this season and not the next; I can't think of a single team on earth with higher expectations for next season than the Reds from Munich and with more rumoured changes than our strikers'.

All three in one go! And all done reasonably well. Gustavo impressed when he was on.

It's been ages since I can last remember a triple substitution

He was on a hat trick, so it might have played a role in Jupp's decision-making.

It was good to see that we looked in total control of the game for the full 90mins. I thought Robben didnt have a bad game but just blew hot and cold like Lau03143 said but thats what type of player Robben has always been but i thought some of his play in the second half was good and he looked like he really wanted to take full advantage of his chance at starting for the team which was nice to see from him and his control and layoff for Gomez's goal was outstanding.

Gomez on the other hand just didnt look interested to me and he could of had a hattrick in the second half if he could be bothered to stay onside which was really sloppy from him.

15 points clear now and that should be it from the title this season.

Guys do not get over excited, this was like a Schalke B Team missing Huntelaar, Draxler, Farfan, Uchida,Papadopoulos and Fuchs in addition to Holtby who left for Tottenham.
I wouldn't use this game to measure any type of performance of our backline as they could not pass the midfield. Gomez and Robben did well if you put them in the context of lack of play time but this was the ideal game for them to see the pitch: a depleted Schalke, in our own turf and after Gomez and Robben had match action with their NT's a few days before.

I still believe it is not fair to claim that JH was not going to rotate the starting 11 when the 2nd Half of the season was only 3 games old and you need to maintain the rhythm of the first choice players, now that there will be more games there will be more opportunities for all, but for key matches Muller and Manzu won their spot and they should remain as such.

If I have to give a good review to anyone on this match it would be our midfield trio: Schweini-Martinez-Kroos, regardless of the opponent's limitations their possession and recovery was insane and that alone unleashed the wings freeing Ribery and Robben going forward with Lahm and Alaba overlapping while the backline remained untouched.

The entire team had a great game, Gomez looked a bit out of form but will get back into it in time.

I don't understand how people can say Robben had a bad game. He didn't lay off one goal for Gomez because he went for it, you can't blame him for that. He ended up providing two goals one from the left that found Gomez and Gomez laid it off for Alaba, then when he laid it off to Gomez to score.

One player that seems very low profile the entire game was Kroos, he didn't really show much but non the less it was a great game.

Overall a great performance by the team ,and 15 points clear. Can't be much happier as a Bayern fan at the moment.

Not bringing up the fact he won the free kick Schweini scored from?
