I heard he flipped the ref the bird, but I didn't see it clearly in the outtake. But it was his first straight red in his entire career. He's not exactly known as a serial offender. To think CR7 got away with two games. Where's the proportionality? I know, I know, different leagues, but still...

Bayern should have an extra incentive today to deny Di Matteo another success at the Allianz Arena with a blue team

Xabi Alonso and Neustädter are one yellow card away from suspension.

The amount of hatred Dante is getting is undeserved, in my humble opinion. With Dante on the pitch in the 14 Bundesliga matches prior to Wolfsburg, Bayern conceded 3 goals.

I agree with what you say about Dante, and always feel that no player who has served Bayern well in the past should get excessive criticism from anyone who regards himself/herself as a Bayern fan. That said, I have been thinking for quite a while now that Dante's best years are behind him, and he seems no longer really able to deliver in Bayern's high defensive line.

Absolutely. Like van Buyten, he deserves our respect, despite not fitting in the plans of a coach he's never meant to fit in.

The guy is 31 and never was the fastest player anyways. I agree - cut him some slack. He was essential during the Treble year, and for that he deserves just a little respect. [-X

(and also agreed - he shouldn't be seeing the field anymore when everyone is fit)

Irrespective of whether Dante's best years may or may not be behind him, he was a big regular in the first half of the season, during which Bayern conceded a record low of 3 goals. I didn't see many complaints about him then. However, he reminds us of Van Buyten vs Milito in one solitary match, and suddenly he's not good enough. Do we have better defenders? Individually yes, but Dante has proved to form a solid partnership with his peers this season, Wolfsburg match aside.

I am sorry but It changes nothing. Dante is not anymore good for us. It is not only this match against Wolves but it is whole last season and this half season too.
Treble season = he was so fantastic but we can't live from our history and past times.

I'd agree less on that point, but am happy to be proved wrong. I doubt Dante's contribution to that record. It was more about the players around him - Alonso, Neuer, etc. I've found him very wobbly and unconvincing since last season.
