Im estimating Boateng will be out for 4-6 weeks but I don't know how serious it is, he may need surgery for all i know but 4-6 weeks is usually the average, then add on another 2-3 weeks to gain match fitness....:(

Very unlucky about Boateng's injury, but I'm not too worried. Van Buyten played well, and once Gustavo is back we can also play Martinez at CB. Hopefully Badstuber will be fit again soon as well.

Every one played well today, there isn't much to criticize. I'd like to comment on Robben though. He needs to work on his finishing. He's playing really well but his finishing has been terrible lately.

Agreed, Robben should have scored 2 hat trick in 2 games if he finished better. Makes you wonder if Gomez would have finished some of those easy chances :P

Martinez and Schweini don't quite understand eachother yet. The two need time - Schweini worked real hard today, but his passing was atrocious (which it has been for a couple of games now). Martinez was the opposite - his passing accuracy was great, but he didn't run as much and his positioning when the team was in possession was kinda questionable. Time, they need time.

Another thing - despite Frankfurt having a fair few great chances, they didn't have a single shot with their feet inside the box. They could really threaten only through headers.

Can't say this claim is really supported by facts. Ribery played 7 passes to Robben, only Lahm and Schweini passed more to him. And Ribery certainly preferred passing to Robben over his other teammates.

DvB makes us a really dangerous team when it comes to set pieces which we've been getting a lot recently. I hope he gets more playing time.

Robben has become a much better team player, but I'm afraid he's pulling a "Torres". The poor bastard just can't score off those 1v1s. I hope he scores the next game, even if it was to be against Germany (of course, we'll be leading by then anyways) :P

Alaba 1st PK taker, Muller 2nd. Makes sense. I think that when Gome is back he'll probably get that role though.

This was not the best performance of the season but the team was able to overcome Frankfurt in a close battle. Here are some comments on the game.

My comments on the game:

1. First half could have went either way.
a. Frankfurt player should have been sent off for an over the top tackle on Schweinsteiger.
b. Frankfurt had a few very good chances which they should have taken
c. We came back into it and took our lead.

2. We looked a different outfit at set pieces when DvB came on. He's a monster at attacking set pieces.

3. Pizzaro was disappointing especially after a god game against Lille.

4. I'm slightly worried about Boateng, hopefully it's nothing serious.

5. We keep on going on about it, but our strength and depth in our squad is a massive advantage. In awkward game against the 3rd placed team in the BuLi, we're able to keep Mueller, Shaqiri and Mandzukic on the bench is incredible.
To all those, Over the years,

and left as good friends.

One more thing - did you notice how Ribery immediately sought out Martinez once he gave the assist? It just gave me the feeling that they're really trying to make him feel good and integrate with the team. Or maybe Ribs is just that kind of a warm cuddly bear of love.

Hard earned but deserved victory. Ribery shouldn't have gone down. Lucky he wasn't booked like the other Frankfurt player for simulation. My complaint is that Bayern kind of defended too deep. Bayern let Frankfurt advance too much and defended from their own box. At least if you are going with that tactic, it is important to close down as much as possible their crosses. Frustrating to see Lahm happily 2 meters away from their left winger, giving him time and space to cross. On the other hand, you see Alaba rushing to close down his opponent immediately, preventing him from crossing.

Great penalty by Alaba. Powerful and accurate. He really doesn't show any anxiety when taking penalties.

Stats are not everything like in basketball. You could see how Robben was trying to find Ribery in almost every play and then you could see the opposite when the Frenchman had the ball. Robben was always moving calling for the ball but Ribery just hold it or tried to find a different player

Maybe they passed the ball to each other when they took 2 or 3 corners in the final minute but it wasn't like that during the match and it was pretty obvious.

I hope it was just this match and it doesn't happen again :)

And I agree with Robben's finishing. He should train those 1 on 1's cause his finishing is being horrible lately. It's a pity cause he is now a great team player.
I TRUST IN ARJEN ROBBEN

This. Haven't had such a positive feeling during corners and freekicks for several months!
