I'd prefer them to take the foot of the gas and spend as little energy as possible. They all have the 120 minutes in their legs. There's no use exhausting anyone more than absolutely necessary. Frankfurt's best goalscorer is missing, and so is the only halfway decent defender, making the worst defense in the league even worse. Score an early goal or two, then shut the game down, is what I would prefer.

that is why players like Hojbjerg and Shaqiri should have stayed.

I didn't understand Pep's "less players means less problems" statement earlier this year; I suspect he might think this over now. And it's not like there hasn't been a warning with the situation ahead of Christmas having been even worse. I don't know how he can say he's never had to deal with a situation like that. There were 11 players out in the last game before Christmas, now it's "only" eight. The only difference is that then the winter break was ahead, and now important games are imminent. But he simply can't claim that there never was an injury situation like that.

sending Hojbjerg on loan was a very big big big mistake...
Hopefully J.Martinez will be back soon too...
With all these injuries I am kinda giving up hope to fight for the UCL. But at least we can defend the double!

Not too worried about the offence. They'll figure it out eventually, and once Thiago starts playing full games things are bound to improve.

If you just look at the number of shots, then yes Bayern's offense has decreased. But if you look at the details of each shot taken in the last two games. Almost all of them are in dangerous zones (ie, in front the goal). And in these 2 games, we have more big chances than our opponents. BVB and Neverkusen shot more than us, but in terms of quality and threat to goal, we created the better chances.

For me it is not a mistake for loan and sells Hojberg and Shaqiri respectively, both of them wanted to leave and it is better for the harmony of the team.

Also, I don’t think players like Hojberg and Shaqiri could help us now, the main problem here is that Bayern can’t fill the absence of Robben and Ribery, and Shaqiri neither Hojberg could help us to replace them and being better team.

I don't agree. In situations like this every pair of legs are able to help...

I think some people are remembering Shaqiri with rose-colored glasses. He was wasteful in chances and never proved his worth while he was with Bayern.

Shaqiri would have been probably injured as well. He was always injured when Ribery or Robben were injured.

I agree it doesn't make sense to force players to stay who want to leave. And I didn't mean to suggest that Shaq and Hojberg would be the solution (although I think they would be an option if we wanted to rest players in a game like Frankfurt). It's more the general attitude I don't understand; I think in the Pep book it was also mentioned that he prefers a small squad. If you are in three competitions and have a lot of internationals on the squad that is a very risky attitude - as we can see now. "Less players, less problems", well, I don't know what experiences he had behind the scenes at Barcelona but it's not like the Bayern squad is an assemblage full of divas and egomaniacs. I think having to deal with player problems is the lesser evil compared to having to deal with the injury problems he faces now.
