I compare this match to the BVB Pokal final in 2014.
Well done to today's Pep's tactics.

My bet went to shit because Leverkusen decided not to fight. Kiessling should have handled his chance better, poor first touch.

Costa is a beast.

Probably felt he can do better. He hasn't reached his best this season yet.

Honestly I thought he played very well today, just WAY deeper than usual next to Vidal to stop counters. He didn't have a chance to maraude forward because of his positioning.

Today's performance make me think two things:

- Alaba is MASSIVE. The most complete player in the world probably.

- Our standard formation should be Benatia-Alaba-Boateng with Thiago and Vidal in front. Pep needs to limit Xabi's play time and Alaba can handle the libero role exceptionally.

Edit: I mean while Javi is out. When he comes back, he can take care of that role.

Agreed, David was just superb. I've never seen him look so solid as a CB. He seems physically stronger this year.

Interesting thought on him as a libero. He certainly has enough intelligence and ability to dictate tempo to do it. Only thing is the left; Bernat is a bit of a question mark for me so far and I can't see him as a starter at the moment. Unless maybe a 3-5-2 with perhaps Vidal or Thiago playing a wider midfield role to support Costa on the left wing.

Ruling out Alonso after todays performance? Not good.
Even after CB's return, Alonso should be in the first 11 in the important games. He is the best passer in Bayern and his long balls fit perfect in the wing play. Pirlo has those and Xabi. No one else.

Yes, but if we overuse him like last season, we already know the consequences.
