Bayern Munich vs 1. FSV Mainz 05

Bayern Munich vs 1. FSV Mainz 05
Competition: 1. Bundesliga
Venue: Allianz Arena, Munich

After coming back from the international break, FC Bayern will play against Mainz, who have only managed a draw and a loss so far. Probably the biggest question on everyone's mind is whether Javi Martínez will make his starting line-up debut or whether he will sit on the bench.

Should be nice and easy. Mainz are no pushovers but we have more than enough quality to see off their threat.

However, they've been our bogey team for quite a while now.

I hope they dont stop us...I have a feeling that we will go on a great run here.

Once the national team break is over we will play 7 games [2 games per week] so we need to keep that momentum going.

We have a great squad with great bench...so we should rotate a little bit and win at least 5 games.

Bayern play Valencia 3 days after they play this game, so i expect some players to be rested for this game and i think Bayern shud be expecting Alaba, Contento, and Gomez in that week also :D

^We'll win all 7.
Not overconfidence, just the proper amount of confidence and belief.

Schweini is back and by back I mean 'back' as a BOSS. Martinez is here. Gustavo is in beast mode. Mueller is on fire. Complete team is going great.
Hopefully Alaba, Contento and Rafinha may be match fit. Even Gomez would be near fit.

Of the last six meetings between these teams three were won by each, much to the credit of Thomas Tuchel who is an awesome coach and tactician.

This time around though, they won't know what hit them once we're done with them. The high pressing that they employ and that gave us so many problems recently won't do nearly as much damage as it used to. With our improved backline, with hopefully Alaba back, Dante and Badstuber knowing how to handle a ball, and of course our double pivot of Javi and Basti they won't get a foot on the ground when we're in possession. Lahm is immune to pressing as always.

Mainz is in for a spanking they won't soon forget.

Alaba won't definitely start the match after such a lengthy injury...
He is not even training with the team yet... once he started training, he needs to work on his fitness for a couple of weeks...

I agree... I definitely want to see much more rotation in the squad... We don't want to have a bunch of tired players and another bunch of unhappy players...

This squad has much more quality/depth that needs to be used... But I'm worried that JH might be too conservative to do so... Even his usually late substitutions show that he is just a little bit too cautious... Even in yesterday's match, even though we were 6-1 ahead by the 60th minute, his 1st substitute happened by the 70'. I expected him to give some other players more playing time...

For a start, I want him to take a minimal risk and bench some of the players that might be tired after the internationals for the Mainz game... then he can have them fresh for the Valencia match...

Strange playing a consecutive home match this early in the season.

I agree with dambun i was expecting some early subs but it seems like Jupp likes taking his time in deciding whether an opponent is down for the count

As is his way.

At 6-1 against Stuttgart, I thought we might have seen the three subs on sooner.

I don't expect much rotation for Mainz. Possibly Robben coming in for Gustavo and Kroos falling in beside Schweinsteiger.

I think at this point we can expect Martinez to play every game either by sub or he is in the startin XI

I would love to see Schweini and Martinez together on the pitch!! Let's see what magic can this duo create in our midfield. :D
