Bayern Munich vs 1. FSV Mainz 05

Bayern Munich vs 1. FSV Mainz 05
Competition: 1. Bundesliga
Venue: Allianz Arena, Munich

Fresh from handing out the Bundesliga trophy out on a golden plate to Borussia Dortmund last Wednesday, FC Bayern have one last Bundesliga match left before they host Real Madrid in the Champions League semifinal. Mainz 05 will make their way to their Allianz Arena hoping to improve from their disappointing 11th place in the Bundesliga table, knowing that Bayern may well rest a few players. But Bayern Munich know that a morale-boosting win is very important now. So, what will it be?

Heynckes announced that he will rotate players in order to rest them for the Real Madrid match. Fully agree with him. Our chances of winning the Champions League are greater than the Bundesliga now.

Our recent record against Mainz would say that wasn't a foregone conclusion!

Yeap. In first round we lost 3-2 and I fear that we might lose again. Now that I saw the whole list of our results, it's not the only the lost vs Dortmund that cost us the BL title, but also a lot of missing points vs "weak" teams (Mainz, Freiburg comes in mind).

Mainz is a great comeback story this season, so beware of them, I warn in my preview at FC Bayern Central. And Bayern has to keep fighting!

Wouldn't be surprised to see Contento/Pranjic. I certainly hope that Lahm and Boateng get some rest and that Schweini plays as much as possible. So great lineup.

I would prefer JH to rest all key player's even if schalke wins against bvb in the earlier match which i think schalke will.
Lahm,kroos,ribery.alaba..this players definitely need a rest before the big want against madrid.

Lahm, Boateng, Alaba, Ribery, and Muller should have a rest.

I would keep Robben and Gomez with the hope of getting some confidence back before the Real game. Plus, Bastian should play the full game to regain his fitness and form.

I would like to have a test of Bastian-Kroos in the middle today.

I disagree about Ribery and Alaba. Ribery has been rested a few times and Alaba is still young and is not showing any signs of fatigue. He needs as much game time as possible. After all we need a few stars playing to ensure we win.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't make the starting lineup though.
