It's incredible that our centre half spent the majority of his time on the halfway line.

Even more incredible that our "Right Back" (who was nominally fielded as such) played a box-to-box midfield role most of the game.

Width is very important. At Pep's Barca, said width was mainly provided by the fullbacks. It seems that, at least for Lahm, the order seems to be to cut inside offensively whenever possible. I'm not yet sure whether I like that or not. Like I said, I'll have to rewatch the game. It is interesting for sure.

That was an amazing 2nd half. They didn't even get a sniff at our own half except for the last 10 seconds. The pressure we put on them was intense and I'm surprised they even lasted that long to break. I am sort of happy that Alaba missed that penalty. On one hand, it was very harsh. On the other hand, I wanted to see us break the deadlock from open play and not via a PK. Some poor finishing and their GK's heroics made the scoreline much more friendly than what it should've been.

I was very impressed by Boateng today. He was everywhere, and his diagonal crosses were outstanding. As for Ribsy, the guy can't seem to stop amazing me. I mean, damn! Not even the game-long triple-team was able to take the ball away from him for once. I can dare say he is playing his best football ever at the moment.

Pep made the correct decisions today, especially when it came to sending Muller in. Before the sub we were making it difficult for ourselves by having our players congest the midfield. Muller's entrance automatically started giving our lads some more space. He truly is a space creator. Also Pep made the correct call by switching to 4-2-3-1 once Kroos came in. That change was the main reason for Robben to have enough space to do his magic (how about that goal!). All in all, it was a very decent performance coupled with a clean sheet and a strong defensive display. We just need to keep the rotation running because these types of games requires a whole lot of effort from our guys.

And the first 10 when Lahm got the yellow card. :P

I must say Thiago-Gotze duo was very dissapointing today. Kroos-Muller were the ones who really helped Bayern get the three points. Kroos should play against those weaker sides because he has the ability to score from distance and make it 1-0 for Bayern. And we all know what Muller can do with his smart movement on the pitch. Best duo to play against sides like Nurnberg, Augsburg etc.

And while we like to remember all the great stuff from last season (and why not, there's an abundance of that), we must not forget games like @Bremen, for example. Yeah, the score looks like a comfortable victory in hindsight, but anyone who remembers that game also remembers that we looked like molasses for long stretches of the match, until Gustavo finally put one away in the 81st minute, followed by Mandzukic's 0:2 in the 83rd.

We won't play brilliantly 34 times in the Bundesliga, and we won't play brilliantly every match of every other competition. What's important is the resolve we're showing over and over again to bring home the three points on the days where we're feeling and playing a bit like molasses.

Loved Robben performance today, he's got on his bike, and is really consistent. I find Mueller becoming more and more crucial to the team, Goetze, on the other hand, might need more time to fit in with the team, really uninspiring performance. The whole team needs more time to get used to Pep's tactics..

Btw, can't stand those constant comments & comparing Bayern to Barcelona during the match... Clearly, it ain't Barcelona, coz that'd be La Liga. These players didn't grow up learing to play the way Pep wants them to, and the other route of playing football did work very well in the past, so where's this excitement, over how superior Guardiola's ideas are, coming from...

I just wanted to watch more long passes and crosses from Boateng. Pinpoint passes to his team mates. Just remember when Ribery gets suspended for collecting 5 yellows cards and misses an important match, he could have avoided one totally unnecessary yellow card. :(

A good result, no doubt. Another 3 points, and that's all that matters. Nurnberg played very compact throughout, which made it tough to break through, but I knew Bayern would eventually.

I thought Ribery was awesome last season but I have a feeling we're seeing the 2014 Ballon D'Or recipient, he's absolutely amazing. Robben also had a great match and I, like others , preferred the Kroos/Muller combination over Thiago/Gotze. Still, Gotze is just coming off a long injury and I believe he will add a lot to Bayern's attack over time.

On a different note, I hope Bayern kick the sh*t out of Chelski next week.

You've all been really unfair to Gotze. He's had an excellent performance for a first time and he nearly scored so things look ok. However his alliance with Thiago isn't working too well

This was Götze first competitive game since May and it has been in a totally different team. He is just regaining his form and he needs time to show his world class skills with us. Be sure that all Bayern fans will love him in a few months time

Müller and Kroos have been together with this team for a very long time. Thiago and Götze are new signings so they need time

He was decent alright, but nothing outstanding there. Technically, he's fit, he's paid a lot of money, so I'd expect him to try a little bit harder. I didn't see him try his best.
