Same here... Nothing positive about it! **** and their stupid clock! If they’re not going down this year, they never will... They always do it... Completely ruined this otherwise great weekend...

They haven't published a new prediction since this matchday and it might be a week or two before they do(they tend to tweet the predicted bundesliga table about once every couple of weeks).

However, 538 have a different method of prediction(based on trying to calculate team strength instead of player strength), and they continuously update. Their method of prediction has a lot of problems with it(it's really bad at comparing team strength between leagues), but most of them don't apply to this circumstance.

Anyways, 538 still has Hamburger SV, even after their win, at a 90% chance of direct relegation, which makes sense(Hamburg are at most about as good as 16th placed Mainz, they are 5 points behind Mainz, they have a worse goal differential than Mainz, there are only 5 games left).

In fact, Hamburg basically needs to gain 6 more points than Mainz over the remaining 5 matchdays to stay up, and by my calculations Mainz has averaged 0.93 points per game this season, so Hamburg probably needs to average about 2.1 points per game over the last 5 to stay up, which doesn't seem likely. Thus, while I'm not going to celebrate until or unless they are mathematically relegated, I'm not giving up hope yet.

Can't see tweet? Click here!
And now they have published it. 93.4% chance of direct relegation. We shouldn't give up hope yet.

There was hardly anything in that tackle for which Schalke got the free kick and off which Naldo just scored. This referee is full of shit. Super inconsistent. Should’ve been a yellow earlier for Schalke defender for a nasty tackle on Schurrle from behind.

BVB are suddenly in a tricky spot....

If RBL wins today, they will be on 49 points, only two behind BvB...should they hold and draw they'll be at 47; only four behind...Meanwhile they play B04 who are in red-hot form right now (level on points at 51) and Hoffenheim, Frankfurt, and RBL are all currently at 46 points.

BVB remaining schedule has Leverkusen, Bremen, Mainz, and Hoffenheim. Realistically I think they'll need to win at least two of those to be safe in a top 4 spot. I don't fancy their odds vs B04 at all, so they will probably need to win two out of their last three in all likelihood....On the whole, they should still stay in top 4, but it's looking much less certain right now...

VAR comedy at its best

Mainz - Freiburg

0-0 at Half Time and all players in dressing rooms

After 2 minutes the referee tells them to come back as VAR has reviewed a play and conceded a penalty !!!

Even if Mainz win this I still refuse to believe HSV won't survive. They have Freiburg and Wolfsburg next. Win those and they could be just two points behind. Then they have Frankfurt and Gladbach who both seem to be losing form, especially Gladbach.

Catastrophic error by Schwolow and De Blasis nearly missed the easy tap in.

Crucial goal for Mainz as Freiburg were clearly dominating and their goal was about to come

2-0

Wow! I am in favour of VAR but that is idiotic. Need to see this for entertainment though. :D
