That rule is by every legal expertise I've seen illegal under European law anyway. Which is of course the reason the DFL agrees with all the exceptions. They know there's a very good chance if anyone decides to take it to the European court it'll be gone. And it looks like Ismaik is just about to do that.

DRvad14 wrote:Bundesliga's 50+1 rule must end for clubs to compete - Rummenigge
Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge believes the Bundesliga has no choice but to scrap the 50+1 ownership rule to remain competitive in a "global" game.

The 50+1 rule, which stipulates that more than 50 percent of a club must be owned by its members, has come under increasing scrutiny, with officials from several clubs saying they feel the fight to keep it is being lost. The rule limits outside investment from rich benefactors as it is not possible for them to be anything other than a minority shareholder without a controlling stake.

Rummenigge wants every club to have the right to decide if it wants to follow a different business model.

"Personally, I am in favour of leaving it to every club to decide whether they open the door on outside capital," the Bayern chief said. "We are the only of the top five leagues with this luxury. We have a competition which I believe is not only national, but also global,"

Rummenigge also suggested that the Bundesliga would have little choice but to follow the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1 if it is to stay competitive.Support for the rule has already declined, especially with the rise of RB Leipzig, who found ways of bypassing the rule despite effectively being owned by Austrian energy drink manufacturer Red Bull.

Leipzig have joined Bayer Leverkusen, Wolfsburg and Hoffenheim who are already not operating under the 50+1 rule, while Hannover are set to become the next team to receive an exception permit from the German Football League.

Investor Martin Kind, who made his fortune selling hearing-aids, can take control of Hannover after 20 years of uninterrupted and significant financial support, having been involved since 1997.

This is a big piece of news and it is new. ;) Thanks for sharing.

Actually, not quite. For example, if Rummenigge's successor ends up being a German, not from Bavaria, and not having previously been associated with FC Bayern, would you find that bad? If not, what if he was Austrian instead of German?

Further, some of FC Bayern's big partners:

Telekom - based in Bonn (Nordrhein-Westfalen)
DHL - based in Bonn
Goodyear - Akron, Ohio, USA
Hamad International Airport - Doha, Qatar
Lufthansa - Köln/Nordrhein-Westfalen
SAP SE - Walldorf/Baden-Württemberg
Tipico - St. Julian's, Malta
Coca-Cola - Atlanta, Georgia, USA
Hylo Eye Care - Saarbrücken, Saarland
Procter & Gamble - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
Apple Music/Beats by Dre - Cupertino, California, USA
EA Sports - Redwood City, California, USA
Veuve Clicquot - Rheims, France

And...board members/executives:
Jan-Christian Dreesen (executive vice chairman) - Niedersachsen
Timotheus Höttges (board member) - Nordrhein-Westfalen
Martin Winterkorn (board member) - former CEO of Volkswagen AG (Berlin) and from Badem-Württemberg

Anyway....I think it is safe to say there is plenty of "non-Bavarian influence" running the club

This is another piece of news, which also mentioned the 50+1 policy "stands on notoriously shaky legal grounds", and “Everyone knows that as soon as someone sues, the 50+1 rule will fall.” Hasan Ismaik launched the lawsuit this June? According to this article.

How long do you think the lawsuit will take to remove the 50+1 constraint? Perhaps Kalle see it coming so he is just doing a reminder in advance? Much appreciated.

HSV improved a lot... they are holding well vs RBL.
I have a question, how come sky buli is not airing this match?

Both goals were beautiful, Werner's was pure class... perfect balance, speed and shot accuracy.
Keita went out holding his groin...

So these bastards play on Wed and are playing on Fri...
And we play on Tue but play our match tomorrow and at 18:30!
