Hell even if every club goes "that way" whatever the hell that means, the culture won't change because it's still the same German people who'll be attending the stadium! We only need to worry about it vanishing when all sorts of corporations start making English people attend Bundesliga games

Also, we have real clubs, where members actually have a say... Leipzig is nothing but a "franchise", just like in American sports: those who make the best offer (read: highest bid) can bring a team to Bundesliga! Great! Remember Unterhaching? THAT is soccer! And impossible today...

Well apart from Red Bull employees, I doubt Leipzig actually buy their fans, and these are German people like those in Bavaria or Bremen or wherever else, so the fan "culture" wouldn't be different.

The thing about the members having a say, I look at it in two ways: 1) Bayern obviously adopts the membership majority rule, and we're the biggest club in Germany so German football won't really change unless we do; or 2) So what if it turns to corporate ownership, in the grand scheme of things? Going by how absolutely shit Bundesliga clubs are including Dortmund, if this doesn't change the Bundesliga will turn into an Eredivisie style league where players only see German clubs as stepping stones.

Spot on! In fact, Bayern will find it harder and harder to financialy compete with Europe's elite due to our relative lack of broadcasting income, yet this lack could in partly be down to our total domestic dominance, this could be described as Bayern's glass ceiling.
Bayern could possibly negotiate TV rights on their own, just as Barça and Real had done in recent years, but this would have the effect of further widening the gap between Bayern and the other Bundesliga clubs.
As there is no miracle solution, the advent of investors like Red Bull could help the Bundesliga becoming more competitive and thus revive overseas interest with a signficantly better broadcasting income.
Consider this, the PL will earn more than € 1 billion per season for the next 3 years from overseas broadcasting income alone, compared to € 240 million for the Bundesliga. This situation will no longer be viable in the medium term.

You're wrong... It is BECAUSE the clubs have history, that atmosphere is that good... It's not "the Germans", otherwise no one would complain about us not having good atmosphere (cause they can't find anything else )...
Maybe they don't buy them per se - but they regulate and train them... They were handing out flyers with songs "to sing" (produced by demand and preapproved) for years...

And I would gladly accept not being a top CL contender rather than seeing my club - and others - become soulless objects like every run-if-the-mill "club" of the so-called best league in the world...
Thanks for nothing, :pep: !!

Oh don't be silly now. Why do extra TV revenue and additional commercial income = soulless? Why can't a bit of modern corporation coexist with tradition? Bayern were and are built on commercialisation. The majority of our income has nothing to do directly with football. You're lucky you can still get tickets on the cheap, precisely due to corporate earnings. Would you want Uli and Kalle to not negotiate all these partnerships and raise your ticket prices instead?

Let me blow your mind: the stadium where the team you support play in is named after a **** insurance company. I don't see you crying about that, nor have I seen you complain about about the big ass T--- formed in the audience every Bayern match by people in white hoods who are obviously, in your own words, being regulated and trained by T-Mobile. Double standards much?

Well guess what, if Bundesliga stays the way it is and turn into a bypass league for half-decent players, you will no longer have any right to make sarcastic remarks like this one, because it'd have been true.

Don't get me wrong, would I rather see Schalke, Bremen, Gladbach or Stuttgart occupying Leipzig's position now? Of course. Do I want 15 new clubs in the league like Leipzig? Of course not.

I see Leipzig as a necessary injection to German football, so clubs like Dortmund and Schalke could hopefully stop being little bitches and attempt to adopt Bayern's model.

You got me wrong... I was merely saying PL clubs - save Liverpool - are soulless... Commercial necessities are different IMHO... Allianz pays us a value we are worth for us to advertise for them... Red **** Bull is putting money in a "club" that supposedly will be worth this investment in a few years... All the time occupying a spot that should be filled with the likes of Nürnberg or Karlsruhe, or maybe even the pussycats...

Why are PL clubs soulless exactly? Just because they're not German? Cut it out with the superiority complex, yes we tend to make fun of them all the time but these clubs also have genuine fans. Not as loud as the Germans maybe, but how dare you call them soulless when we have people getting paid to form a big ass T in our stadium.

What good will Karlsruhe do to the Bundesliga (and eww, Nürnberg? Seriously?)? Without Leipzig we'd have won the league by now and other German clubs will stay mediocre, not improving in Europe and eventually turning into a joke league where players will pass through as a stepping stone as I have repeated numerous times. German football needs Leipzig.

What is this foreign obsession with Liverpool? Seriously, go to their stadium when they're playing a small club, like my English club Hull, and after the first five minutes of singing YNWA the atmosphere is as DEAD as any other soulless English stadium. I've said this before but the only big English club with any soul left is Leeds. Their fans are incredible and Elland Road is a proper old fashioned English stadium with a great atmosphere. 8)

Fair enough. As you probably know I have no time for any of the big PL clubs and find it very hard to say anything good about any of them :D

According to the FIFA-TMS-report, German clubs paid €114.9m for new signings during the winter. A new domestic record.

In comparison with the other Top-5 leagues, only EPL and Ligue1 clubs have paid more money for transfers.

FIFA's TMS (Transfer Matching System) helps making international transfers more transparent.
