2016/2017 Bundesliga Generic Discussion Thread

Postby pyrasur » Fri Sep 23, 2016 11:31 pm

Haven't watched their game yet but from their last two matches, Dortmund play easily the most attractive football right now. They would be scary if their back line still had Hummels, though I was critical of Hummels last season (or the season before that?) for the mistakes he was making.

I can totally imagine against Real Madrid they will look the superior side but will concede the losing goal in the last few minutes because Madrid is the luckiest damn team in the world combined with Dortmund being the least lucky. :) Hope I am wrong.

I think Gnabry has the least chance cause he is surrounded by donkeys...

You will probably click as a team before the end of the season. As long as you're still not dropping points, we could be in for a very exciting season. Good luck against Real. Let's remind Europe that footballing future is German.

So far Schmidt and Weinzierl deserve the sack. Incredible; two young up and coming coaches leading two of the best squads in Germany and they are doing so badly...

Tbf Mainz is a good underrated team. But I've already said, Schmidt's football is high speed without any thought or purpose. I hope after this season either Leverkusen addresses their coaching situation or the Bundesliga finds a better alternative for the top four. At this rate hopefully Leipzig.

Borussia Mönchengladbach are example of a true fighting spirit, not only from the football perspective but as an institution in general. They can lose their vital players every summer like they lost over the last 5 years, but they keep just won't to accept to fall down. =D> Someone should reward that club with 150 mil € cash to bring them to the higher level. Favre stepped down and they again remained the same, Kruse and Kramer departed, now Xhaka... They again remained strong. 100% respect!

If someone should learn from them about leading the club, fighting against decline, modern football viruses called elite clubs, then Schalke are the first in line to stand and say: "Yes, we are - desperately since the Bundesliga!". After them someone like Stuttgart is the next one.

Hecking might get the boot before Weinzierl!

Funnily enough, when we were doubting wether Guardiola would extend, most people wanted Hecking, Weinzierl or Favre to take over. XD
