So you thought of BVB before Bayern popped into your mind? :P

I agree with your prediction but Leverkusen might be there instead of Gladbach

Sky: All BuLi managers think that Bayern will win the title, only Paul Dardai(Hertha Berlin's manager) thinks that Neverkusen will win the title and Thomas Tuchel said: "Let's wait and see."

It's actually both Skripnik and Dardai who said that; Sky got it wrong.

Saying we won't win is fair enough but I don't see how people could predict Leverkusen to do better than Dortmund :?

Well, with Bayern in the USA and playing late at night I've followed both Dortmund and Leverkusen during preparation. Found Dortmund rather underwhelming, whereas Leverkusen have looked really good.

With Dortmund, I'm not convinced that integrating eight new players (or something), all the talents coming from other leagues and not familiar with the Bundesliga or Tuchel's playstyle, is something that can be done in a matter of weeks. I also don't expect Götze and Schürrle to be back to their top form in a matter of weeks. I rate Tuchel, I really do, but he's not a magician. Leverkusen OTOH have kept their team and made some good additions, Volland and Chicharito are already playing great together, Baumgartlinger and Aranguiz (who I consider almost a new acquisition given he was injured almost all of last season) is also fitting in very well. Brandt, Tah and Henrichs (and Yurchenko) have developed very well, and Öztunali and Da Costa are two promising talents they got back.

People are pointing to the 18 point gap between Dortmund and Leverkusen last season, but they're missing the point that Bayer had a similar horror season in 2015/16 as Dortmund had in 2014/15. Players like Chicharito and Kampl arrived late and had next to no preparation, at times nine players were out injured all at once (and we're not talking about bench warmers), they were very unlucky with referee decisions a couple of times which cost them points, and last not least there was the debacle with the Schmidt ban. During these four games (the game with the incident plus the three when he was suspended) they got one point out of a possible 12. They still never dropped below 8th place and finished 3rd comfortably (whereas Dortmund in 2014/15 found themselves at the bottom of the table at Christmas and barely managed to qualify for the EL). What they are capable of if they have their key players available they showed in the last eight games.

For me it's quite the opposite, I fail to comprehend why a large share of the Dortmund fans (not all of them, mind you), and not only them, are so convinced (to the point of arrogance) they'll finish comfortably 2nd or may even win. I don't see that coming at all. I expect the transition to take time and I wouldn't be surprised if they have a rather rough start, dropping quite a few points against smaller teams.

A great analysis of Leverkusen. With regard to Dortmund they've always been a bit of a question mark this year for the reasons you mentioned as well as lack of experience. I myself thought we'd win comfortably this season and have it much harder in 2017/18 but for all we know Dortmund could click together quickly and if they do, they'll be a very formidable side. The Super Cup was an indication that they won't take as long as I previously thought, in my opinion.

BVB will win this year ...
We will put our focus elsewhere... And I will be happy with that.
The problem is that focus is not enough but we need a lot and a lot of lady luck.
