Even Thiago in his poor form offers more verticality than Götze.
Götze is an attacker and thats it.

Best start of the season ever in Bundesliga.
The new recruits are amazing.
Bayern winning convincingly most of their games.
All we need now is Guardiola's signature on his new contract.

Thiago offering more verticality than Götze ? Yes.
Götze being an attacker and not a central mid ? Yes.

Thiago is actually able to drible past players without losing the ball without being really quick, other than Götze who has the assertiveness of a U16 player.
The closer Götze is to the goal, the better. His strength is his acting inside the box. He's mainly competing with Lewandowski and Müller and not with Rode, Vidal and Thiago who all play the same position if you haven't noticed.
"unrivaled" directness (verticality) must be a joke.

Well then we must at least give him a try in the middle

I mean he deserves it, he have been doing great with the mannschaft and we could see him in his natural position while thiago recover his form.

Gotze should play in the middle but at the moment Muller kinda occupies that shadow striker role Gotze likes to play in. I don't see Gotze benching Muller anytime soon so his playing time is gonna come from out wide.

While we all love Mueller, he's been a little off in the past 3 matches

I dint mean to like that comment. He's scored 6 in 7 games... Hard to bench him, even if Lewy has taken the spotlight off him for the last two games.

He might have not scored in the past 2 matches and was largely invisible for the first half against VW, he still draws defenders towards him and away from lewa. his runs from behind lewa towards the near post or far post really do confuse defenders sometimes.

I'd bench Müller for Götze at the moment.

That's what I meant... Not blaming Guardiola, but Müller never keeps being on a roll after being benched once in between...

I wouldn't bench Mueller for Messi at the moment.
