Poor game to be honest but great to see the team fight for a win regardless of the quality. We can at least go into the break with a good result.

Oh well, at least it's three points with so many injuries.

Yeah, not the greatest today but Bernat and Schweini worked their butts off to make up for it

They all looked awfully tired today. It's high time for the winter break.

I actually thought it a very good game. Mainz really played well, and some of their players will surely go on to greater things. I nearly feel they deserved a draw. Bayern weren't dominant, but that doesn't mean they played particularly badly - just that they found the Mainz style and tactics more of a challenge than usual. That's good, because there are more lessons to be learned from such a game than from a dominant game against weak opponents. Going into the second half of the season, Bayern need teams that will really challenge them in the Bundesliga, so that they'll be sharp enough for the eventual challenges in the Champions League.

MotM - hard to say - possibly Schweinsteiger.

Concerns - perhaps I have an obsession about Dante, but I find him worryingly indecisive on the ball and worryingly clumsy in tackles.

Next up - Doha Rovers.

High points? Mine would be the win, Schweinsteiger's goal and general form, Bernat's whole game and Mainz themselves.

Low points? Hojbjerg's misplaced pass that led to the Mainz goal (although he was superb otherwise), Neuer's under-par performance and the wobbly Bayern defence.

Turning a game around even when you don't play good enough, it's always positive, that's the winning spirit...
Hojbjerg should be loaned out for his own good.
Dante should be sold, his minutes should be given to someone young with prospect(yes, buy someone), his days seem to be over...
Bernat proving that he's our best summer deal.
Schweini is back!
That's about it...

Considering their history with injuries... a young prospect wouldn't hurt to the group and in the same time it would be a move for the future, what Dante can't offer.

The Bavarians' will to win.
Another gritty win. The true heart of a champion shown.

This is the major difference of Bayern's last season, it's ability to win hard fought games even with a depleted squad. It may not make Pep happy but there's time for everything. Time for beautiful football and time for ugly ones.
