This is not true!!!..
Roy is a phantom whereas Klose is not..Klose works real hard on the pitch and doesn't just play the waiting game like Makaay..In fact he is a better version of Pizaarro..:)

So,
An attack of Toni/Klose/Podolski is definitely better than that of Toni/Makaay/Poldi

Being a phantom or someone who participates in the play buildup have nothing to do with effectiveness. I wasn't questioning each player's style of play but rather the final outcome. They both score goals, plenty of goals.

I want Klose to join in because I believe we'll create a big damage for opposing defences with him and Toni around. But if this has to wait for a further year, I don't mind because I don't have a problem with Makaay as well. His only problem is his age, but we can live with that for a while.

If you had noticed the games last season you will find out that Makaay & Pizarro combination was more successful than Makaay & Poldi..
That's because Pizarro his a@@ off on the pitch..
We cannot have 2 pure finishers upfront..We need a supporting striker and Roy Makaay cannot do that..as simple as that..and he cannot work with Toni.
We need Klose and he is coming..:D

Well, I agree and disagree :D
hehe seriously, Podolski is more than capable of playing as the second forward, he had a difficult first season but his technique makes him perfect to participate in the play buildup. So it doesn't need to be Makaay/Toni, I haven't written off Podolski and I still believe he will fulfill his potential.
Now our midfield will provide more creativity, Toni will certainly make life difficult for the defenders with his imposing size and thus create space: that's ideal for Podolski to flourish. Added to all this, we have Makaay who is a proven quality. That's my whole idea, but I certainly agree that klose will be a superb addition.

We need Klose and he is coming

I believe so mate. The latest reports are that Lyon's interest has faded and they have turned their attention to Trezeguet.

I know there are a lot of fans who are looking at Bayern and taking notice. Some have said that Bayern were not messing around when they said they were going to do an overhaul of the team and get a lot of big name players.

yeah yeah do you guys really think that Klose will be a great signing ?
Makaay scored more goals than Klose did and Makaay is older than him. We have signed couple of promising and a superstar striker , we dont need him. I really do think that Bayern is interested only in the Marketing area...just why Real bought Beckam. I am not saying that he is not a very good player but we dont need him and if we needed him desperately we would have bought him yeeaaaars ago after that world cup. We should go after one last midfielder or defender as we have already lots of strikers. I dont really think he will be a good signing, we got Toni and probably Podolski will start with him but we have Schaudarff as well . Makaay on the other hand i do think can perform fantastically and lets cut the crap the guy can be as dangerous as Toni. We dpnt need Klose , well i was like bring Klose bring Klose but when i sat and had second thoughts i went through Klose's performance this season and then again ..to be honest Bayern should have been fined for having those illegal meetings with Klose. Before that very important game with Espanol ( i think ) and Klose went on to meet Bayern officials. All i am going to say is that it will be very but very difficult for him to perform at Bayern's expected level.

Klose had an injury and was coming back from the injury and had a bad patch there, but honestly I prefer the 13 goals + 16 assists of Klose to the 16 goals + 5 assists of Makaay. It just shows how Klose isn't a selfish player at all. I don't know of any other top attacker who gives so many assists.

Klose, 29, the Bremen striker who was top-scorer at last year's World Cup, has been linked with a multi-million euro transfer to Bayern this summer as the German giants re-build their squad after their worst season for eleven years.

The 20-times German champions have signed Italian World Cup winning striker Luca Toni from Fiorentina and Klose will also be competing with Bayern's top scorer Dutchman Roy Makaay and his international team-mate Lukas Podolski, voted the best young player at last year's World Cup, for his place up front.

And Basler, who spent three years at both Bremen and Bayern in the 90s, told German on-line magazine Sport-Bild he predicts a tough 12 months for Klose - who ever he plays for.

"Klose will have problems at Bayern," insisted Basler, 38, who was the Bundesliga's top-scorer in 1995 at Bremen and was capped 30 times for Germany.

"In his current form, Klose will have big problems to assert himself in the team with Toni signed and with Lukas Podolski fighting for his place."

Klose is in a precarious position at Bremen - with his contract set to expire in 2008, he has already pledged his future to Bayern from July next year when he will join on a free transfer.

But Bayern are keen to sign him sooner and Klose was forced to apologise to both his club and fans in April when it was revealed he had a "secret" meeting with Bayern bosses to discuss a possible switch.

And Basler was quick to point out the mistakes Klose - who scored five goals at last year's World Cup - has made this season on and off the pitch, having failed to score a goal since April.

After Klose told reporters after Germany's recent Euro 2008 qualifier win over Slovakia that he would switch to Bayern in 2008 at the latest, Basler said he can expect a hard time from the Bremen fans if he stays.

"Klose isn't playing well this season and has made many mistakes," said Basler.

"He hasn't done himself many favours with the things he has said and he will have big problems with the fans at Bremen - if he stays."

Bayern president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said he wants to sign Klose this summer and is reported to have offered ten million euros.

Werder want at least 15 million, but which ever shirt he wears next season, Basler thinks it will be a tough campaign.

He said, "All the same, where ever Klose plays, it will be a tough season for him. With every bad game he has he makes himself more vulnerable."

Beckenbauer Hopeful Of Early Klose Arrival

Postby MUTU on Mon Jun 18, 2007 4:14 pm

Bayern president Franz Beckenbauer is still confident that Miroslav Klose will be coming to Bayern sooner rather than later.

"I cannot imagine that Bremen will be able to hold on to a player like Klose. How will it work?" he asked with reference to the ill feeling between the player and the club.

"I remain hopeful he will come in the summer."

Last Wednesday Werder announced the negotiations were over, as manager Klaus Allofs had not heard from Bayern in two weeks, and that their position would not change.

Werder see Bayern’s offer of €10 million as too low, while Bayern have declined a swap deal involving Lukas Podolski. They do not want to offer more money either, with Klose in the final year of his contract.

Beckenbauer, however, expects a solution to be found.

"The reaction of the Werder fans and the Bremen board will make it difficult for them too keep him," he argues. "I am confident we can find a way to conclude this."

Der Kaiser confirmed that Roy Makaay will be permitted to leave but added “it is important that we get Klose first.”

He declared himself “very happy” with the signings made so far this summer saying: "The board should be congratulated for the fact we have got all the players we wanted.

"However there is no guarantee that this will get us the points needed to be champions.

"Our defence gifted too many goals last season, and in some areas we lacked fight. This season there will be good competition, but this is in the interests of everyone."

Bremen, who are considering the offer of Bayern for Klose and want to include Bayern’s 22-year-old German striker Lukas Podolski — voted the best young player at last year’s World Cup — in the deal and are believed to want at least 14 million euro.

But on the Bayern web-site, Rummenigge insisted his club would not be drawn into a bidding war for the striker who has scored 33 goals in 69 internationals.

If they can wait a year, Bayern will get their man on a free transfer, but Bremen midfielders Torsten Frings and Tim Borowski have both said Klose should be allowed to leave if he has lost his desire to play for Bremen.

“We’re not prepared to play poker for Klose,” said Rummenigge.

“We’ve tabled our bid, and the situation is that we’re unwilling to change our offer.

“Practically all his team-mates and most of the fans have said Bremen should sell him at once.

“But if the Bremen people think they can continue to work with Miroslav next season, even given the circumstances, that’s what they should do.

“It’s something Werder Bremen have to evaluate. I must admit I find it all a trifle amusing."

French champions Lyon are rumoured to also be interested in Klose, but the player has pledged his future to Bayern and Rummenigge sees any mention of another side’s interest as just an attempt to push the price up.

“I’m basically not interested whatsoever (in any mention of Lyon),” said Rummenigge.

“I see it as a flexing of muscles in an effort to drive up the price.

“Klose has stated his intention to join us in July 2008 at the latest. It was an unmistakable statement, and any talk about Lyon is just made up. We’ve seen through this little game and we won’t be put off by it."

Rummenigge has also made the situation clear to Bayern’s top-scorer last season Dutchman Roy Makaay.

If Klose joins the 32-year-old Makaay, who scored 16 goals last season, will be free to leave.

Interestingly, while Klose is out of form at the moment, Makaay is Bayern’s second-highest goal-scorer of all time having netted 78 goals in 129 matches, giving him an average of .6 goals per game — higher than the likes of German stars Jurgen Klinnsman, Michael Ballack and Rummenigge himself.

“Roy Makaay will be released if Klose joins us straight away", said Rummenigge. “That’s what we’ve told his agent. And we’ll send (24-year-old striker) Julio Dos Santos out on loan for a season, which will give us a squad of 22 outfield players and two goalkeepers."

Bayern have already signed six players this summer including French midfielder Franck Ribery, Italian World Cup winning striker Luca Toni and German defender Marcell Jansen.

I love Makaay! he was great with us.. especially, when he first arrived to Bayern, but lately he was out of his best.. and I can`t imagine him sitting on the bench.. so, it`s for his own good to leave if Klose came and I wish him the best of luck
