Schwarzer considers Germany move
Middlesbrough shot-stopper attracts Klinsmann attention
Mark Schwarzer is keen to end his career in the Bundesliga as it is reported Bayern Munich are considering a move for the goalkeeper.
It is understood that Jurgen Klinsmann, who is set to become Bayern manager in the summer, is keen to attract the Australian shot-stopper to the Allianz Arena.
Schwarzer, who is out of contract with Boro in the summer, looks set to quit The Riverside at the end of the season as it appears he is unlikely to be offered the new two-year deal he desires.
The 35-year-old has admitted that a move to Germany would appeal and Bayern could prove a likely destination as Klinsmann searches for a replacement for Oliver Kahn, who retires in June.
Schwarzer said in The Sun: "It would be nice to finish my career in the Bundesliga." |

| Schwarzer as a backup keeper........I don't see it happening so that means Klinsmann wants to bring him as a first choice keeper and unfortunately it is not what I want to see. Rensing should be no.1. |

I agree with you mackoy - Rensing deserves his opportunity and I don't rate Schwarzer in any case (sounds like yet another player trying to band names about as he is out of contract).
Just wonder what the Hildebrand situatuation will be now Valencia have a change of management?.... |

| if we can get mark schwarzer we should get him. He is one of the best goal keepers in England. He plays for australia as there number 1. Very consistant . His parents are from germany, and he said he would like to play in germany. Klinsmann already called him on the phone according to the net. If we get him i think he will be our number one. Sorry rensinger. |

Schwarzer Trades Boro For Fulham
Fulham have succeed in luring highly rate Australian keeper Mark Schwarzer from Premier League rivals Middlesbrough.
Boro had been intent to hang on to the 35-year-old, but evidently did not come in with a good enough offer, as the player himself had always declared his preference to stay at the Riverside so long as the money was right
Now, despite reported interest Juventus, Bayern Munich and Celtic, Schwarzer has elected to sign for a side that just barely managed to preserve their Premier League existence this season.
"I thought it was important to sort it out sooner rather than later so it didn't affect preparations for the qualifiers," he said.
"I was very confident something would be sorted out.
"I had a few other options but felt this was the best one for me.
"I don't think anyone can say anything negative about my stay at Middlesbrough, I fulfilled every contract I had with them."
Schwarzer, who had been a great servant at the Riverside for over ten years since arriving from Bradford in 1997, signed for Fulham for two years. No other contract terms have yet been revealed. |
