In a curious parallel to Bayern's current on-field woes, Tuesday's opponents Real Madrid continue to struggle for domestic form. Three days ahead of the Champions League first knockout round first leg against Bayern at the Bernabeu stadium, the men in all-white disappointed their home crowd with a fortunate goalless draw against 15th-placed Betis Seville. To add to the misery, David Beckham saw a straight red card after a retaliatory foul in the last minute.
