Allthough it seems like there are lots of candidates for the Bayern job, 3 names are considered as most likely:
1.Bernd Schuster
2.Houillier
3.Eriksonn
But once more, imo it all depends on how this season ends. Qualification for the CL could change Hitzfeld mind, so he could stay longer.. we ll have to be patient and see what happens im afraid |

| If Bayern come second or third at the end of the season, I think I'd like Ottmar to stay a bit longer. Too many coach changes could unsettle the squad in the summer. |

As in Eriksonn, the former coach of England's NT? I hope he's not on the list. I'm not impressed by him plus I've also heard that he always demands a high salary. If Bayern are complaining about the money for the players then there's no way they could afford him. |

Getafe coach Schuster: I can't turn down Bayern Munich
Getafe coach Bernd Schuster admits he's interested in the job at Bayern Munich.
Bayern president Franz Beckenbauer revealed this week that Schuster was on their radar and the former German midfielder declared: "A contract with Bayern is a chance that no coach could resist.
"I'd drive or ride my bike there if the offer came. Bayern are one of the elite clubs in Europe, alongside Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
"Getafe is a springboard for coaches, as well as players, the directors know this."
Schuster also revealed that his contract has a get-out clause should a big club come knocking.

I like this fellow...he can do a great job at Bayern... |

| It would be great if he comes, Getafe has really catched my eye especially after beating Valencia 3-0! They have the strongest defense this season in Spain, and all that thanks to the coach.....I guess is because of the coach, right? |

German football champions Bayern Munich plan to decide in March on their coach for the next season, general manager Uli Hoeness told Friday's edition of the local tz daily.
Hoeness said that Munich have not given up hope that the current coach, Ottmar Hitzfeld, will agree after all to stay on beyond the season.
Hitzfeld, who coached Munich 1998-2004, took over from sacked Felix Magath two weeks ago, but insists he does not plan to renew his contract which runs until June 30.
Hoeness said Munich's board will not comment on the speculation around the new coach, saying only that the future helmsman "must speak German."
Munich president Franz Beckenbauer mentioned Bernd Schuster, currently at Spain's Getafe, as a possible candidate. Other names mentioned include Lyon coach Gerald Houllier. Former Munich player Lothar Matthaeus hinted he would like the job as well. |

Germans coaches back Getafe's Schuster for Bayern Munich
Ottmar Hitzfeld has backed Bayern Munich's pursuit of Getafe coach Bernd Schuster.
Hitzfeld joined Bayern last month as a stop-gap and will leave the Bundesliga giants at the end of this season.
Bayern president Franz Beckenbauer admitted Schuster was on their radar and Hitzfeld said yesterday: "As a player he was one of the best in the world for his position. Now, as a trainer, I believe that he has demonstrated that he also is among the best in the world. He is doing very well and he is a very interesting coach."
Another big German coaching name, Klaus Toppmoller, also endorsed Schuster's quality: "Bernd is capable of coaching any team. It is not strange to me that big European clubs want him because what he is achieving with Getafe is not easy." |

| Not to say that I would want this man as Bayern's next coach but there's a rumor going around that Rijkaard, coach of Barcelona, is quiting at the end of the season. Don't know if this is true but if it is then he could very well end up at AC Milan. |

Getafe boss Bernd Schuster has thrown his hat into the ring to become the next manager of Bayern Munich but admits he may have to join the queue for the coveted post.
Bayern parted company with Felix Magath at the end of last month, with the German giants turning to former UEFA Champions League winner Ottmar Hitzfeld in the interim prior to a new appointment.
Former Germany national team captain Lothar Matthaus has already made public his interest in the position and fellow countryman Schuster is of a similar mindset.
"I reckon I can say that there is no coach who would say no to Bayern. And definitely not me either," SID sports news agency quoted Schuster as telling German television.
"I like being in Spain very much, but Germany is always tempting and you want to come back at some point. To a top club would, of course, be even better." |

Bayern Munich president Franz Beckenbauer has dismissed suggestions Getafe boss Bernd Schuster could take the reins at the Bundesliga champions.
Ottmar Hitzfeld took over as interim manager at Bayern after the sacking of Felix Magath, though insisted he would only remain at the club until the end of the season, and it has been rumoured Schuster could take over in the summer.
Schuster has been hailed for his achievements with Liga side Getafe, though it appears the modest size of the club could stand against him as Bayern bosses search for a new coach.
“His club Getafe is hardly the centre of the world,” Beckenbauer told German broadcaster Premiere.
The ‘Kaiser' had praised Schuster after Getafe's 3-0 win over Valencia the weekend before last, though he insisted “that had nothing to do with Bayern.”
Schuster has already admitted his interest in the Bayern job, though said:
“You have to wait until the time is right. But one thing is clear: I would be very happy to come back to Germany.”
*******
Bloody diplomacy. Why can't they be open about at least one thing??? |

Getafe coach Bernd Schuster refused to rule out a move to Real Madrid at the end of this season.
Schuster is being tipped to succeed Fabio Capello at Real and said yesterday: "I don't know what will happen next season. The certain thing is that no-one from Real Madrid has spoken to me.
"My future doesn't lie with Bayern Munich, that's for certain. If I had a choice, I would prefer to coach Madrid over Bayern."
Schuster also hinted he had already drawn up plans for his appointment at Real: "The truth is they must do a lot better next season. You don't have to go crazy in the transfer market, but I think a Zidane-type signing would help. There's also other areas where improvement is needed." |
