Arminia Bielefeld coach Thomas von Heesen admitted he is flattered by reports of Bayern Munich's interest in his services.

The defending Bundesliga champions sacked coach Felix Magath on Wednesday following the goalless draw with Bochum.

With Ottmar Hitzfeld only taking over until the end of the season, word in the Bavarian capital is that Von Heesen is among the candidates to steer Germany's most successful club next season.

Von Heesen announced last week he would leave Bielefeld this summer to seek a new challenge with a team that is not fighting relegation year in and year out.

And when asked about the Munich rumours, he said: "This is a hint that the job I've been doing gets recognised outside Bielefeld."

However, he would neither deny nor confirm the link to Bayern.

"This hasn't been brought up by me but by some journalists. It's not my making. I have a task here in Bielefeld and I will switch my full attention to it," he added.

Borussia Dortmund are also said to be interested in the 45-year-old, who has vowed to remain tight-lipped about his future until a deal has been reached.

We need to score more goals and finally bring (attractive) offensive football.. just look at what Bremen are doing this season!! They may conceed 3 goals, but they finally score 5.

Bayern has always played relaxed, tried to score a goal and then lay back. We often lost games because of that.

We got the potential, so all we need is a coach with ball !! I said it before and will say it again, for me Louis Van Gaal would be the ideal man for the job

Bayern Munich have become the latest club to signal their desire to recruit Jose Mourinho if the Chelsea manager leaves Stamford Bridge in the summer.

After being strongly linked with Real Madrid and Inter Milan, Bayern's entry into the race comes as a surprise particularly as only last week they appointed Ottmar Hitzfeld after the dismissal of Felix Magath.

It is understood that Uli Hoeness, the club's general manager, contacted Jorges Mendes, Mourinho's agent, last week to ask if Mourinho would be interested in speaking to the club formally at the end of the season. As a skilled negotiator, Mendes offered only encouragement, pointing out that although he remains contracted to Chelsea until 2010, the situation could change in the summer, when they should speak again.

Hahahaha, i also heared about the rumour of Mourinho being contacted by Bayern, but honestly i doubt he ll want to come to Germany.. If he leaves Chelsea he ll rather end up at Real Madrid (because they, like chelsea, seem to have endless money resources and just splash the cash on whoever is hot this season. Though, Inter could also be a possible destination..

Other names added to the list of next Bayern coach are Gérard Houllier (Lyon) who has an advantage of being able to speak german.
Also the name of Jürgen Klopp (Mainz), who would be a favourite of Beckenbauer..

He loves to splash the cash, and know that Bayern wont spend 30millions every season. Therefor he ll rather end up at Real or Inter, both eager to spend money in order to win the CL

i hope he or Van Gaal will be our next coach

I'm not sure if Mourinho loves to splash the cash as many folks think. I think he got that image of a big spender because of the owner of Chelsea who just handed him the checkbook and let him do what he wants. Unlike Chelsea, I think Mourinho didn't have all the cash to spend while he was at Porto.

IMO, Mourinho is a guy who wants total control on the team. He wants things his way and not what the boys in the office want. Personally, I think Bayern could use someone like that but I know they won't go for it.

Of course, Bayern could contact me and then all their problems will be solved. Had to add that in there to ligthen the mood.
