This is a friendly match, but no doubt it should be an interesting match. I wanted to watch this game but it does not appear it will be televised on TV here in the US. Boo!!! Instead they are going to show San Marino & Ireland ( I believe) and Egypt & Sweden. Too bad. I really wanted to see how Gomez plays.

I never expected any channel to show any game in this country, this is the worst place to be to watch soccer games. All the games I watch are from the internet. myp2p.eu I think is the best website to watch all the big games including this game Germany vs Switzerland

and if anybody has more information on this match. like where is going to be played and what day? and hour? thanks

The game against Germany is on Wednesday, the 7th, and it's being played in Dusseldorf. I don't know what time the game starts.

Stuttgart striker Mario Gomez is set to cap a fantastic week by winning a place in Germany's starting XI against Switzerland on Wednesday.

Injury to Miroslav Klose has opened the door to the Under-21 international, and coach Jaochim Loew is likely to replace last summer's World Cup Golden Boot winner with this season's joint top Bundesliga marksman.

"This week has been phenomenal for me," Gomez said following a brace which fired his side to victory over Bielefeld last week before another strike downed Dortmund on Sunday.

"First the win against Bielefeld, then the call-up to the national team and now another win with another goal from me."

The 21-year-old is set to partner Kevin Kuranyi up front for the Nationalmannschaft as Klose - who has torn a thumb muscle - is rested with one eye on next month's Euro 2008 qualifier against the Czech Republic.

So, Gomez and Kuranyi will be our strikers for this game. This should be quite an interesting match with these two men starting.

I don't think it will be a big win, but I voted Germany all the same. Interested to see how Gomez plays too.

I hope they win and win big, but if they end up in a draw then that's fine by me. Just as long as the new players can get some time and get used to the feel of the team.

Switzerland is a pretty good team. Too bad they didn't go further in the WC. No one scored on them but they got kicked out because they ended up losing to Ukraine (I think) in PK's.

We are 1-0 up already.

Kuranyi the scorer.

Kuranyi heads in from close range after Ballack's effort is tipped onto the the crossbar by Benaglio! The delivery from the right was a free-kick from Frings after Gomez was felled by Grichting.

30' GOAL GERMANY!! Gomez glances a beautiful header past Benaglio as Germany attack again down the right through Fritz. The winger's first-time cross is met by an advancing Gomez who gets the sweetest of connections to make it 2-0.

Looks like a cakewalk for Deutschland..

Maybe he didn't start because he has some NT experience? I really don't know so I'm guessing on it. Loew might want to see how Gomez and Kuranyi handled this experience.
