I for one am now sick of the board cheaping out on this club now, we are one of the biggest teams in the world and yet we still refuse to pay any decent wage to sign a half decent player, instead we sign "promising young players" like Dos santos n Ali karimi instead of established players with a pedegree. Time for the board to pick there fingers out and splash the cash or we'll do f**k all in europe instead of bieng one of the teams who always go out in the last 16/quarter finals of the champions league.

Hey calm down my friend, I know how you feel and its true, we are signing "promising players" who are continuing to fail time and time again, splashing the cash out isnt Bayern( Hoeness and Rumenigge) style, they mainly relay on the youth section, in other words, like the player you have in your avatar. But I really and I mean really understand your frustration and I agree that its time to stop playing this game and start signing some real players, there are loads of them, too bad Hoeness and Rumenigge dont view this forum...... Laughing

Shame on you Bayern are outspending their Bundesliga rivals, and have been doing so for quite a time. There are two problems though: established players generally would prefer to play in England, Italy or Spain. Secondly, Bayern don't often afford to buy these players due to lack of funds. I'm sure that if Bayern had unlimited funds, they would buy more quality players, but the problem is that Bayern is a business and can't afford to make the losses that other leading clubs do. The fact that we're where we are with such a tight budget is already quite of an achievement.

I agree with you for some part of it, its true we outspend our Bundesliga rivals, but we dont outspend our European rivals, established players would go where the money is, hence like Ballack....Second, Bayern CAN afford players, but chooses not too, once i read Rumenigge say "We can sign anyone. All I have to do is wave our Cheque book." It was on the Fc Bayern site. In order to keep your stars and sign replacements you need to dig into your pockets or your bank account. Which Bayern did some recently, Van Buyten, Podolski and Van Bommel. But we lost Salihamidzic and Ballack for free and GOD help us let us NOT lose Pizarro and Santa Cruz aswell. We arent on tight budget, well not THAT tight but we can sign any star for the right bid.

I don't think it's bad. What I think is bad is these clubs with sugardaddies who are killing football. football is become less of a competitive sport and more of a who-has-the-best-sugardaddy contest.

i just feel that we need to be taking advantage of the fact that we are one of the biggest teams in the world and the name "bayen munchen" should be enough to lure players here no matter what the competition.

I have to agree with Mark on this one, but I would also add that leagues such as the EPL, Serie A (I believe) and La Liga get a ton of money from the TV rights while the teams in the Bundesliga only get a small portion. If they could get the same amount of money like the other leagues then I don't think there'd be any doubt that Bayern wouldn't be willing to open the check book.

And like Mark said, it's a business. I don't think these other leagues have the tax laws that they have in Germany. Bayern has to watch what they spend because of that. I don't think the other leagues have too much to worry about.

I would really love to see Bayern spend a lot of money and get some big stars but I think the way everything is set up they just are not able to. It's not their fault. Unfortunately, ahtletes today are motivated by the all mighty dollar, well in this case the euro, and that's a shame. To my knowledge, Platter even talked about this saying this issue needs to be addressed. The way things are going all we are going to see on TV and in the CL are teams from the ELP, La Liga, and Serie A because they have all the money. These teams think the whole world is their candy store and they can buy whatever they want, while teams such as Bayern have to picky shoppers because of the limited amount of money they have.

Exactly. If Bayern could afford it, they would spend more. Ok, perhaps they might afford to spend a little bit more, but then it'd start verging towards taking a risk.

not every club out there has it's own abramovich to get the pocket money from.
the reality is that bundesliga is hardly a dream league to play in. so it's hard to get the players as it is and the limited amount of money surely doesn't help. not to mention the futher financial costs of buying a top player.

... and don't forget the higher tax rates in Germany. Players need to be offered higher salaries in Germany than in other places for them to end up with the same amount of money in their pockets.
