| Post subject: United hit transfer brick wall |

Sir Alex Ferguson says Manchester United have hit a 'brick wall' in the transfer market.
The Scot had hoped to land Owen Hargreaves from Bayern Munich and Southampton's Gareth Bale before the window slams shut on January 31.
However, Bayern have rejected a &euro30 million bid for Hargreaves and Southampton want to keep Bale for the rest of the season - although there is the possibility United will agree a deal and then loan him back to St Mary's.
"We`re hitting a brick wall at the moment," Ferguson stated.
"It`s interesting I make this point each year. Not a lot happens in January.
"It"s very quiet for us, Chelsea and Arsenal. Blackburn have done a bit of business, Portsmouth have brought two or three players in but there"s not many deals really.
"Aston Villa are desperate to get players in I spoke to Martin O"Neill last week and he"s finding it difficult to get players in.
"It"s not easy in January."
