Bayern Munich's veteran midfielder Mehmet Scholl will retire from football at the end of the season, club manager Uli Hoeness said in an interview published Tuesday.

looks like he's going into the youth training setup... plus his last game looks like a fitting end to his career - home to barca!

i guess it's inevitable. still, when it comes to football, it does seem incredible that there's actually any aging process going on.

I wonder who will take his number 7 shirt? That shirt represents a true Bayern Legend, Maybe Basti Schweinsteiger or should a new player arrive and take it? Ribery,Schaludraff maybe even Huntelaar? Any comments mates? Scholl has been one of the best ever, next to Effenberg and Basler off course, but Im happy to see him as a Bayern coach like, Gerd Muller.
