And it seems realistic as well. I know Bayern refused 17 million sterling for him to transfer a few weeks ago, but it makes sense that they accept 15 million sterling for him to move in January, because by then Deisler would be back and van Bommel would have found his feet playing for Bayern. |
Mmm that's true.
But I don't get it, why wouldn't he be able to play for Man U in the CL? |

| He would be able to, but not this season. UEFA have a rule that if any player has played for a club in European competition, he cannot play in European competition matches for another club in the same season. He's already played for Bayern in the CL. Hence, till the end of the season, he cannot play in either the Champions League or the UEFA club with any other club except Bayern Munich. |

Oh right. I guess that's fair. So long as he's playing in the Premier League, I doubt he'll mind missing the CL. He would probs make Man United stronger, but they'll do fine in the CL without him. They've a good chance of winning the whole thing.
But I hope he doesn't leave. |

I really don't think Man U's got a chance of winning CL....Now with Gigg's injured, park being out for 3 months. their midfield is crippled. |

Celtic gave a valiant effort @ Old Trafford and nearly pulled it off. That match shouldn't have been close. But I like ManU a lot, I don't think they can win the CL, but I think they could win the Premiership. Or atleast they have the best chance of dethroning Chelsea |

I think UEFA changed the rule about the transfers : its now possible to sign a player in January who already played CL and let him play in the UEFA cup.. also the other way around. So if you buy someone who already played in the UEFA cup he can play in CL the same seaon.
still this rule can just be applied on 1 player per team.
I do have to check to confirm this rule |

I dont think its CL team to CL team. If they never played CL but were in Uefa I think they can, but I dont think CL to CL |

Sure, let us know please
The most important thing though: Hargreaves will not be able to play any CL game for any team apart from Bayern in this season. Year after year, the UEFA cup loses its appeal, and many teams in the top leagues would rather win their domestic league than the UEFA cup nowadays. |

SIR ALEX FERGUSON last night confirmed he intends to make a fresh £20million bid for Bayern Munich and England star Owen Hargreaves in January.
Fergie is still angry he failed to sign the midfielder in the summer when Bayern refused to sell, but the Manchester United boss is confident he will land the 25-year-old with a bigger bid in the next transfer window.
Fergie sees Hargreaves as a long-term central midfield partner for £18.6m Michael Carrick, and is determined to get his man at the second time of asking in the New Year.
"We're still interested in Hargreaves," said Fergie ahead of tonight's Champions League clash with Copenhagen. "But there's no update to give at the moment as we haven't spoken with Bayern again."
Hargreaves was crestfallen when his German club blocked his move, after he had publicly stated his desire to join up with Fergie and England colleagues including Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Gary Neville and Carrick.
Hargreaves is currently working his way back to fitness after breaking his leg five weeks ago - but that injury has not put off Fergie, who has been given the goahead from the Glazers to make a renewed bid.
Fergie in convinced Hargreaves will give United "the complete midfield" in terms of options with Carrick, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo. |

True.
What's wrong with Owen? If he keeps whining...we should let him go...
£15million is a great amount for Hargreaves. |
Not that great man. He's worth £20million bcoz he works hard and is the best holding player in the world.Just undervalued |

I'm sick of hearing about it. If he wants to go, let him go.
Man U will then take the Premiership title most likely.
And yay, 20 million. |
